The GPL is nice because you only have to read it once. Each new app that you install that uses it presents the same license content - and there's no sense in reading the same thing twice.
Of course, the GPL doesn't really cover usage at all, but rather distribution and modification.
ehh, the BSD license still states that there is a governing organization/entity that retains the rights to reject any modifications. -- or maybe THAT is the MIT license...
