I looked at their list of software. Maybe one day i'll make one of those wildly popular infographics which show use v. contributions from apple apple.com/opensource
You can't just list a wall of Perl and Apache modules and have that go towards your count

Building Unity from Source (current development version 12.04)
Last content update: 8 Jan 2012
In this guide you will build a separated version of Unity trunk (locally installed to your home directory), so you don't need to worry about corrupting the version from the Ubuntu repositories and you...
To be clear I'm not talking about the windows controls, but the little x button that shows up when your in the "expose" windows mode in gnome shell when you mouse over the activities button.
I've already used gconf to move the actual windows controls over to the left (ubuntu's change got me used...
Tell a user that he should use something currently in alpha state is something we should avoid right? ie: use 12.04 "because it may solve our issue". That is seriously not good advice without knowing the level of knowlege the user has.

I finally decided to make a pro forma comment for it.
There are just way too many of them around.

Ok, I found it. Full instructions can be found here: http://odyniec.net/articles/ubuntu-subversion-server/
Specifically, it says

I have been on 9.10 for over a year on the grounds that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. However, I had a spare weekend and figured it was probably about time...
I performed an upgrade to 10.4, and everything seemed to proceed smoothly, so I took the plunge and went for 10.10.

I wanted to get a program, which is installed via bzr. I have successfully installed bzr, but it asks me to authenticate (despite that I`m logged in to Launchpad). Bzr help seems to be oriented towards devs, and says nothing about logging in. How should a home user use it? Is there a GUI?

Is @Oli still around? htorque asked me to check with him if I could get some rep back on a question I put a bounty on, where the bounty would go to an inactive user.
I'd like to know how I would build Unity from source code in the current development release. Please cover the following topics:
Which packages are needed to compile Unity?
Where would I get the current source code?
What are the steps to actually configure and compile Unity?
Is it possible to s...
So I should wait then and see if someone posts a non-CW answer? The top one looks like it should be good now for 12.04, but I'm not sure based on what htorque said about whether I should actually award my bounty to it
if the answer doesn't work, there's not much you can do apart from telling people to make it better :) but you need to find out if it works in any case
maybe tell people to post a comment about whether it works or not. since it's a community wiki, you can just add a big notice to the top
I'm actually not quite sure about the moderator policy on removing bounties
I just assumed we're not supposed to do it unless there's a special reason, like an objectionable bounty description, or if a questions gets deleted due to a new policy, things like that
part of the reason you can't cancel a bounty is also the fact that it motivates people to post answers. if you do the best job, you get the bounty - regardless of whether your answer actually works or not. you're encouraged to give it a shot

for the server. if you're going to do anything with that git repo, you're going to probably want to be able to pull changes in without waiting for roland or myself.
It's stuck at "Configuring target system"
It's still stuck as of now (I launched the installer from Ubuntu after clicking "try Ubuntu")
How can i solve this?
Should i stop it?
And will it hurt my system?
P.S:I clicked install alongside windows.

I actually write all my C++ on my own machine, test to see it works, then use sftp to put it on the school's server. Then I ssh in to test it on their own compilers and tarball it
The dconf admin users guide says "dconf stores its profiles in text files in '/etc/dconf/profile/'" but on my oneric Unity laptop, there is no /etc/dconf directory.
Have profiles been deprecated or where are they now?
Hmm...~/.ssh/config doesn't exist on my system and setting HashKnownHosts no in /etc/ssh/ssh_config didn't seem to have an effect...I'm logging into my school server over ssh then re-opening the lens to test, btw
