10:00 PM
In fact we might get rid of one year. That alone is worth the lawyer.
It immediately stopped my plans for a new system.
I was thinking of installing 12.04 on brand new hardware.

:-(
ask horst köhler how to get a good deal for a credit :P

rofl
I need a credit I will never have to pay back. But unfortunately I am not an EEC country.

uhm, wulff i meant

If they gave me 3 millions I might even try to pay 1% interest on that.

too tired :D
:D

10:14 PM
I still have no idea why it's Wulff and not anybody else...
...me e.g.

:P

I'd even try not to spend more money than I have.
Promised!
I'd try hard to.
But now - I can't even try to try. Not under these circumstances.

jrg
@JorgeCastro done.

just try to avoid jail - no ubuntu there. ;)

That is a sensible reason to avoid it indeed.

10:19 PM
Hey everyone.
Need to take a creative break so came here.
Writing an essay needs some serious mental focus. >.<

Hi @Icedrake - so maybe write nonesense then?
You can always cut it out later.

i always start with lorem ipsum.

@Takkat Tried that... and then I thought to myself what the heck am I doing? :P

You need stuff to cut out easily. Otherwise cutting is a pain

don't need to write it yourself: lipsum.com

10:22 PM
Famous people became famous by c&p

jrg
let it snow into google.
<3

@Takkat but they also fell deep. very deep. :D

@htorque they are about to crawl back...
like maggots.
Still c&p-ing
Now they even look like Lothar Matthäus :D

you already said "like maggots" :P

jrg
@RolandTaylor 2buntu room?

10:25 PM
a

@jrg nice!

@jrg Could I ask you a quick question about web dev?

jrg
@Icedrake ask away!
I might not answer right away - I'm working on my latest project.

@jrg How can I remove the link coloring and underlining of my twitter feed that I've added to the sidebar on my website? I've tried various things, like adding no text decoration under the div tag for the feed in CSS, but nothing I've tried has worked.
I can get the code to you if you want.

jrg
@Icedrake that?

10:34 PM
Mhm.
We should probably continue this in the web dev room btw

jrg
nah, no need tbh. nobody else is doing anything around here. :P

If you say so. :D

Don't mind me, I might learn something too.

jrg
@Icedrake so, i have to be lazy and ask

@jrg Ask away.

jrg
10:37 PM
are you using the code that twitter provides, did you write your own, or...?

Got this this morning, give me a sec while I find the source.
Well I can't find it in my history lol
But do you want the code for it?

jrg
you're calling this and then parsing it somehow... whut. - twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/…
OH. the twitter blogger JS.
ok.
How did you add that code that didn't work?

good night everyone!

Used this with two script lines:
@htorque Good night. :)
<div id="twitter_div">
<ul id="twitter_update_list">
<li>&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
</div>
The two script lines:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://twitter.com/javascripts/blogger.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/Icedrake99.json?callback=twitterCallback2&count=3"></script>

jrg
and what was the CSS you tried?

10:48 PM
#twitter_div{text decoration: none;}

You need to find the id/class of the generated content and see if you can override that
If you are in Firefox or Chrome this should be easy.

Using Chrome, so how would I go about doing that?

jrg
`a:-webkit-any-link {user agent stylesheet
color: -webkit-link;
text-decoration: underline;
cursor: auto;
}`
thats the CSS that is currently being used.
(at least for chrome)
so, what you need to do,
is override that.

This?
.override twitter_div{
text-decoration:none;
}

jrg
should work.

10:56 PM
Doesn't do anything. :(

jrg
hm.
odd.
i'll look into it in a little bit.

Alright, thanks.

there is the !important option
or flag or w/e it's called
but I've never used !important - so I have little clue on how it's meant to be used
in any case though the problem might lie in the fact that the code is being generated from javascript after parsing the HTML+CSS
the solution might involve more javascript...

@jrg I might have an idea. Where/how did you get the code that you got above?
What I was thinking was to get to the source of the code jrg has, and change that itself to say no text decoration.

Chromium's inspector
... why can't edit my last msg?

11:08 PM
If you go here:
and remove the style="font-size:85%" part, could that remove the formatting and allow it to be changed by css?

By the way, I got rid of <li>&nbsp;</li> as it served no function.
@RolandTaylor Well all I'm trying to do is get rid of the blue color and the underlining.

I'm not sure where the blue colour is coming from
it might be that your CSS is not affecting the generated code at all, and you would have to change the text colour within the generated code
in fact that is the most likely scenario

Removing the style section had no effect, lol.

add your own style attributes
it will work fine that way lol

11:16 PM
That will have to wait for some other time lol, first I need to finish this essay. Anyways guys, thanks for the help. I'll be back after I finish this essay which should be in a few hours

11:36 PM
