Absolutely. One girl was complaining about things getting messed up. All I said was "Seriously, this is easy compared to WalMart." The response: "I'll just shut up now." It was quite hilarious.

My dog was angry at me when I got home though. I was present 24/7 for 2 weeks. Then I had to go to work. I hit the door, and she's all "You were gone all day. I thought you died. Now you have to squeeze a day's worth of petting in to an hour."

The probably scrape email addresses from profiles and then send out spam like that.

That one surprised me for two reasons:

(1) SpamAssassin somehow missed classifying it as spam

(2) Why would they target askubuntu.com users?

@GeoMint For a GUI personally I would start with a prototype in Tk (Tcl/Tk and friends). That is a proof of concept. Don't worry too much about details at that point. After that, whether you want to do the actual product using another technology with GUI UI Editors etc. is then up for question. Using UI editor before you even have anything is the wrong order in my opinion.

@GeoMint You could also do a prototype in PyQt. This allows you to design and get a working visible result quickly. At that point it would be straightforward to port to C++/Qt if you prefer that for long term development.

basically if you use a command that does something to a file you need to feed it the file name, or if you put in a option it nees s a variable - made up example: a -n flag for a program may be an option meaning number and would need something like -n=5

@MadaraUchiha someone on the arch forums suggests adding --avcodec-hw=vaapi to the command-line to force VLC to use VA-API over VDPAU and see if that works.
