give it a day or so, I've contacted Rosa (from novatillasku) about it, hopefully she will pitch in and translate.
That way we still have a fully useful question.
If after a day or so it's still sitting there, then we can go on and close it.

@StefanoPalazzo @MarcoCeppi I really need you help
what's up @amith?
@StefanoPalazzo can you tell what this used did wrong?
hang on
nope, I've no idea
@StefanoPalazzo He is plotting to open his own Stack overflow though.......
it says "to cool down". either they misbehaved (which is unlikely, because the suspension is very long indeed) or they're too young to use the site
07:24
@StefanoPalazzo He is 23
if he did misbehave, it must have been pretty bad
@StefanoPalazzo See his history, he did nothing wrong
I can't see his deleted posts on stackoverflow, or anywhere else apart from AU (where he isn't active)
but the suspension happened on SO, where I'm not a moderator of course
Intresting...
So technically meaning
@StefanoPalazzo If marco got really annoyed with me he can ban me for a year?
yes and no
we can ban people for as long as we like, but there's a peer review process.
07:30
eekks
we'd talk about it first, then decide collectively how much of a suspension is appropriate for whatever a user did
@MarcoCeppi Forgive me for whatever i've done in this chat room/on AU that got you annoyed
i.e. it's not a decision we make lightly, something has to be seriously wrong
nobody's banned for being annoying, even if you were ;-)
@StefanoPalazzo Yeah, and i've been waiting to ask you: Is Django better than CherryPy?
you'd use them for different things. Django is much nicer for content-driven sites, where you have a clear model of the content. such as news-sites, blogs, forums, ...
3
cherrypy is more dynamic, it does much less than django. it really only abstracts HTTP, whereas django makes informed decisions about data models and things. cherrypy doesn't have templating, database abstraction, or anything like that. That means you have to do all of this yourself or use additional software (like Mako Templates, SQLAlchemy, ...)
3
07:34
so cherrypy it is
thanks

Let it be known that I just did a install of Windows 8, and then re-installed grub on top. Works fine.
you can start ubuntu from the windows 7 boot menu
not sure what you mean with install
best thing: don't buy crappy hardware.

Well, the answer we got seems simple enough to integrate in the installer, given it already does detect Windows
note, that doesn't start ubuntu - that starts grub (iirc).
19:46
@jrg the EU is not going to be happy with hardware that only is capable of using Windows. 2 reasons: MS holds a monopoly and only their OWN hardware can have vendor lock in (like apple does).
jrg
jrg
@Rinzwind So, you're saying that it's not an issue?
yes. I do not believe MS will be able to force hardware vendors to put a lock in. It's unfair competition of a monopolist. Never going to be allowed in the EU. UNLESS they make the hardware themselfs
