3:00 AM
Toshiba needs to go burn in a sea of gasoline.

@RolandiXor here's some thermite. have fun.

lol

ok, I'm back to reading

@RolandiXor select SUITABLE_LAPTOP_BOOL from LAPTOPS where MANUFACTURER = "MSI" or MANUFACTURER = "ASUS";

@GabrielF oh that's true.. it's daily for lower rep users. that's right.
so it's that chat guy is it?
@MarcoCeppi When there are enough people around, which there usually aren't. Plus it gets hidden from the front page if it has a score of -4, which means we need to rely on chat for pretty much 4 flags.

3:02 AM
@hbdgaf lol

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

he'll get tired and go to bed sooner or later
If he really wanted to be annoying he could script this process and be a lot more of a nuisances

15 mins ago, by Marco Ceppi
people, we don't need frantic pings about spam, just flag it and move on

@MarcoCeppi Don't give him ideas.

3:05 AM
@Marco can you just pin your statement to that effect?

He's not in chat

so it shows there --->

@MarcoCeppi They could use the 2.2 API >:)
It supports question / answer posting.

@NathanOsman but only after authentication which would require an actual account

@MarcoCeppi I believe he is... he mentioned a few of our statements here in his spam posts.

jrg
3:06 AM
@Seth Yes, degrees.

That's true. Hey, it's not perfect.

oh well, we can't fix stupidity, is stupid trying to fix stupidity... so what we do, ignore the idiots

Seeing as we have mods, and we can make multiple accounts... We never run out of flags either. He can't even flood the site properly... one every so many min...

@GabrielF he's not smart enough to use them.

@ThomasW. I saw that.

3:08 AM
@Seth apparently not because of your "more" post.

jrg
Just flag it and move on.

exactly
as @Marco said

heh

Posting is one thing, pinging all the mods is another

jrg
Right. So, on that note.

3:09 AM
I was referring to not pinging all the mods because of it
post it here to get flag votes, fine

ah, okay.

jrg
I am off to sleep. Don't ping me until 6AM EST, because that's when I will be awake and back in action.

it doesn't get done if we don't

@jrg weak

@MarcoCeppi still, we don't need spam being posted here all the time either, we're probably all on alert already because of the spam

jrg
3:09 AM
@MarcoCeppi and then i'll be pulling an all-nighter.

touche
@jrg still weak ;)

jrg
@MarcoCeppi pings get sent to my phone.

@jrg that's your fault ;)

jrg
;p

@jrg so turn off your pinger.

jrg
3:10 AM
I AM AWESOME.

@Seth do you need privileges to get site statistics as you did here (We really need to vote more) --->

/me schemes to spam jrg

jrg
and you guys are annoying. ;p
6

@jrg divides this statement by zero, and laughs
@jrg did you only just figure that out? :P

@GabrielF No
@jrg thank you :P

3:11 AM
LOL

@GabrielF check data.stackexchange.com ;)

jrg
and now that's a top star.

and now it's pinned
2

jrg
FU marco. ;p

@Braiam @Seth Thanks.

3:11 AM
Prepare for you 3AM ping @jrg

O_O

jrg
ugh. i left the Ops life behind months ago. I was just getting used to having a nice nights sleep.

@jrg you never really leave the ops life. I've been out of ops for over two years. I can still rise from deep sleep by the sound of a particular text message noise or ring tone
4

jrg
@MarcoCeppi so can i. hence why the SE stuff is not that noise. :P

well one positive thing about this spam is it's raising my helpful flag count.

3:15 AM
someone knows what is /usr/bin/policytool?
dpkg -S returns nothing

@Braiam it's a Java thing

@Braiam man policytool
(yes, it's an RTFM post)

just why the heck that got installed...

if you have java, jre, jdk, you have policytool

@Seth Yeah, entertainment at their expense ;)

3:19 AM
I bet this is from "make me mod": askubuntu.com/questions/402572/…

@GabrielF based on what

I haz an idea... one sec...

@GabrielF we have a dupe of that

@ThomasW. Too simple a question... he made similar Qs before then edits.

@Braiam I disagree with your retag.
@Braiam they're not at system-installation yet. They're just trying to burn the ISO
that's not system-installation

3:21 AM
@ThomasW. pre-installation is included in the tag ;)

"make me mod" just answered that Q...

@NathanOsman if it's a summon the horde of no you can't be a mod questions at an adaptive rate of 3 to one and self deleting while exempted from all SE punishment systems, i think that would be hilarious...

Where?
@hbdgaf Close... I'm going to set up an alert system.

Why? We have this chat. It basically is an alert system ;)

It will be in a minute... muwhawhawha!

3:24 AM
Nathan Osman has made a change to the feeds posted into this room

NO
GOD NO

It's only going to post a message when "a mod" is found in the title.

OH HELL NO
doesn't matter, I hate the RSS feeders for this room

Which is never under normal circumstances.

wait what?
@NathanOsman what evil have you unleashed here o.O

3:25 AM
how can i make a modification to my broken script - would show up, right?

besides, they're about 5-10 minutes lag time

@MarcoCeppi Then it will only catch the ones that don't get deleted right away.

I prefer a locked room instead if anything..

All in all, I don't really expect to hear from this feed unless something gets really missed.

@NathanOsman set it up in the other room, the regulators room

3:26 AM
Other room?

 Ubuntu Regulators

Report evil (or more likely, dupe) questions here for closure....

There's only two people in that room.
It won't get seen.
That kind of defeats the whole purpose... doesn't it?

I'm in there, that's about all that matters ;)

O_O

Okay, okay, okay.
He'll get moved.

3:27 AM
Nathan Osman has stopped feeding the users of this room
7

@StackExchange that will be more funny if it said "Nathan Osman has stopped a feeding the users of this room"

lol

@NathanOsman that's weird. i usually refer to inanimates as she's.

@ThomasW. This isn't a bot.

@NathanOsman it's an automated notice / response, close enough

3:31 AM
It's an RSS feed. I really don't want to associate an RSS feed with "intelligence".

:O

oh my word
-4
Q: We want to be a moderator..how can we explain this to you?

Jack LanterAs above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.As above.

He posted a fake question and edit it!

@Seth lot of times

3:35 AM
@Seth yeah, he did that before.

I was going to warn you, but too late :)

Guess I didn't see that one.
@mods do you know if the spammers have the same IP or are they different IPs?

btw, did you saw the first comment? asking why it was DV?
@Seth tor...

@Braiam I doubt these folks have the patience for tor.
@Braiam yeh
what?

3:41 AM
Well, it looks like spammer has cooled off
I'm going to go pass out for a while

@Braiam even if it were answerable - the 1300 number doesn't give a currency. 1300 Rupees is just a little different than 1300 dollars which is just a little different than 1300 pounds or lyra or.... you get the point ;)

heh

Whoa...mass chat deaths. Who said something bad?

my nobody. read the chat logs.

How many apps should I create in django? Is there any common pattern?

3:46 AM
@hbdgaf Me?

yes.

lol

dist-upgrade @Braiam, dist-upgrade

What...why were all those deleted?

spam

3:47 AM
^^ that

@Seth err, I prefer that packages are not removed ;)

@Lucio oh, i got the django orm working in pygi

Wait...you guys were spamming? o_O

he meant the chat messages.

dist-upgrade removes packages

3:48 AM
I is comfuzed

@Seth oh, no

@Braiam Just plain upgrade isn't going to upgrade those help back packages.

@hbdgaf \o/

@Seth actually, they do ;)

2 mins ago, by hbdgaf
my nobody. read the chat logs.

3:48 AM
@Braiam never has for me.

Ugggh... why can't my power cord come already. I want my Ubuntu system back. I think I might be going into withdrawl

@RPiAwesomeness some tard has been spamming the site

you should use debian ;)

DARN RABBIT!
@ThomasW. So I noticed. Why'd you delete the chat posts?

3:49 AM
@RPiAwesomeness sameold sameold, no need to be versed about it, you should just stop while you're behind. :0

@Braiam you aren't making any sense.

@RPiAwesomeness um, which posts? because i'm not a mod

Now we seems like the Programmers.SE folks, downvoting every one hehe

@RPiAwesomeness ask a mod. :P

@ThomasW. All of the posts above about the spam.
@ThomasW. Scroll up

3:50 AM
@Lucio I agree.

13 secs ago, by Thomas W.
@RPiAwesomeness ask a mod. :P
that message applies
still

@Seth just trying to pull you to the dark side of rolling release MUHAHAHAHAHA

@Marco @RolandiXor care to answer @RPiAwesomeness?

@ThomasW. this is what I'm referring to: i.stack.imgur.com/XG3VP.png

@Lucio i like the possibility of being able to use a simple set of data models from pygi and keep the db end of it portable.

3:51 AM
or is it a "We don't answer plebs' questions on how we moderate" thing?

@Braiam you still aren't making any sense....

@RPiAwesomeness i know what you're talking about. don't keep pointing me at the crap. I didn't delete my own post, a mod might've, so why don't you ask them?

Ah...I see. My bad :p facepalm

@RPiAwesomeness forget about that, it is just senseless, no big deal

3:52 AM
I think he's the spammer

@Lucio Yeah. Doesn't really matter.

Marco de Borgata, you won a flag.

:)
(came on guys, we need more faces here)

Hmmm....does the number of flags available to you go up for every flag marked good? I'm noticing that my flags available has been increasing slowly...

3:54 AM
@RPi stop abusing the smilies

@Lucio Does anyone else read that name as mark of the borg?

?

@ThomasW. Well, I'm just following @Lucio...
He said to

@Braiam This sums up what I'm trying to say I think: debian-administration.org/articles/69

i call that disruptive

3:55 AM
@hbdgaf HAH! Totally am seeing that now

> The following packages have been kept back:
bind9-host dnsutils imagemagick libmagick6
that's not the error I see ;)

0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 27 not upgraded.

@ThomasW. Is that better?

btw, if you always get those errors you should really review what the heck is going on in your system.. that's not normal

is the ubuntu way of saying it.
@Braiam yes it is normal.

3:56 AM
@hbdgaf How many apps should I create for an already designed website? what rule should I follow

err... I never got that...

happens all the time.

apt-cache policy?

read the article
> If the dependencies have changed on one of the packages you have installed so that a new package must be installed to perform the upgrade then that will be listed as "kept-back".

@Lucio one of the django core developers said in a talk, an app is a piece of functionality. if your site is an app you're doing it wrong.

3:57 AM
apt isn't necessarily smart.
@hbdgaf LOL

back to watching Minecraft playthroughs whilst I wait for my Ubuntu system with Minecraft....

@hbdgaf right, so One per use case maybe
like controllers

@RPiAwesomeness a little

See, I'm not a spammer :)

U are an annoyance not helping me. I came here for help. Thanks. — Marco de Borgata 2 mins ago
OHHHHHH
and I'm forced to help U? now I'm not going to help U...

3:58 AM
he's the spammer I'm sure.

Ooo...spamming :P
What a little jerk

sort of, but not really. you want oauth? that's an app. you want social media integration, that's a separate app from oauth. you want a blog - fine - app. you want tagging - awesome, that's a separate piece of functionality, so it's a separate app.

not the same as controllers. see what i mean?

All those downvotes might have put him off though.

@Seth Good point...still shouldn't act that way...

@Seth probably not. it's not vote motivated i think. it's attention. even negative attention is attention. looked at people that go to abusive relationships.
