12:00 AM
@Braiam he's getting really pissed by now...

No, he's getting me pissed... not.

@RolandiXor haha

err... this is why I prefer closing by unclear rather than duplicated askubuntu.com/review/reopen/206785
and this is why I love when the user is active:
I had forgotten all about it. No, it doesn't happen anymore. I will check with my coworkers to see what's been changed on the local network to have fixed the issue. — That Brazilian Guy 1 min ago

12:28 AM
For the mods, is the "make me a mod" guy posts spam or very low quality, for flagging? Or is no flagging needed?

who is the make me a mod guy?

@GabrielF is it on the main site or on meta?

@JourneymanGeek This guy, apparently askubuntu.com/users/233399/sakkara

Q: I want to be a mod please!

SakkaraI don't know the terminal really good. Can someone help me? Suckers i'm not pissed easily :)

main site... yes, it's this guy, but he had other profiles, I guess... earlier today there were also this profile: user233386

Q: I want to be a mod? What's the deal?

SakkaraI'm not going to stop till you make me a mod ok?

yeah, needs banhammering.

yes, he needs to get the ban hammer

if you see here, he asked a legit question first, then started spamming

Yeh... but he's coming back, I guess... so spam, right?

Q: How can i stop the wifi from terminal programmatically?

SakkaraI don't know the terminal really good. Can someone help me?

12:32 AM
Yes, he did... but he wasn't really looking for an answer, I guess. If you see his comments on the answer.
And he's spamming on answers too.

@GabrielF Is it possible that he was a 'normal' user then got hacked?
Question 20 mins ago, comments 12 mins ago

@mod @mods Kill this user: askubuntu.com/users/233399/sakkara

heh, funny thing is I thought it was the other guy who wanted to be a mod ;p
who I shall not name.

I couldn't know for sure, but I don't think so.

at least that guy seems serious

12:34 AM
@cprofitt I am working on it

its not

here is all his activity

Destroying him is a waste of time.

@Braiam - TY for the feedback on the incorrect dupe suggestions, I have found a better option for the gentleman with the dual GeForce cards and suggested it to him in lieu of a duplication flag.

12:35 AM
@RolandiXor: downvotage then?

Getting someone higher upstream to look into this.

let the cold hand of the system deal with it?

Don't delete yet.
He will not be nuked from orbit, but from another planet.

I need some advice.

@NathanOsman marry her!
Oh wait, not that kind of advice... sorry.

12:36 AM
lol

I am trying to get the highest possible quality video signal from a computer to a server over a connection that tops at 700 Kbps.
What is the best transport / codec to use?
The computer is running Windows, and the server is running Linux (Ubuntu 12.04).

@K7AAY prefer the "unclear" whenever you don't have enough elements to make an concrete and concise answer

@Nathan, what is the content of the video? Static, or very dynamic, changing much in every frame?

@K7AAY A stage with musicians. Also sometimes individuals speaking (on the stage).

@cprofitt @GabrielF @minerz029 @Lucio use the spam flag at will!

12:38 AM
So, not very dynamic video, but partially dynamic audio, although smooth transitions without any KAPOW BLAM sound effecets?

Yes.

@cprofitt seems he is using TOR :(

@Braiam did that too, I'm raising 'spam' a lot more than I'd like...

And to be honest, it's not the end of the world if audio quality suffers a tad.

@steeldriver @cprofitt @desgua @EricCarvalho @minerz029 please, don't waste close votes, just flag as spam

12:40 AM
ah... well TOR would make it a bit more difficult to deal with

@RolandiXor Hmmm... he mentioned it... he said something like he had billions of computers at his hand.

I am not sure what we can do except destroy him till he gets tired.

@cprofitt more posts?

Flag as spam and downvote. I'll just destroy his profiles every time I pop on.

and babaji comes again!!!!!!!1 askubuntu.com/q/402518/169736

12:42 AM
@Nathan, I would take a look at x264 Extended Profile (XP) and Xvid.

> Page Not Found
I love it!

@RolandiXor Was he destroyed already? Does that automatically deletes all activity or should we make a hunt?

@K7AAY Okay, great. Thanks for the suggestion.

we have enough people to do spam-flags that the babaji gets nuked the moment he gets mentioned here

yep

12:43 AM
that's definitely a good thing

@GabrielF keep an eye out. I destroyed him which will knock out everything from that account.
But he will keep trying till he gets tired.

Ok, thanks.

@RolandiXor Are we talking about the "make me a mod" dude?

yes

@NathanOsman yes
I called on a higher power for him now :)

12:46 AM
O_o
You mean...
^--- him?

LOL
Nope ;)

I still want that for my kids though.

You and I would know who that higher power is :)

Who wants a stuffed teddy bear? Give me a bacon plush toy any day!

LOL
So THAT's what it is :D

12:48 AM
@RolandiXor Oh, okay. I actually thought you meant SE staff.

@NathanOsman oh they couldn't stop him :/
He uses TOR

SE bans TOR access in 3...2...1...

oh god...

There is no need to ever use TOR outside of Communist / Islamist countries.
There, was that political enough?

lol
Its people like that who ruin tor for everyone.

1:01 AM

@nixveloper: look at the votes ;p
actually thats a textbook example of a borderline bad question getting some epic answers IMO
>_>
to the left of the question?
nope
Also, you mean the comments? ;p
you don't necessarily need email providers
In theory you can constantly just use non-registered accounts until you get IP banned
and these sort of trolls are obviously mentally ill
(no offence, it just takes a certain amount of being mentally unstable to dedicate so much time to trolling. Or bordom, I guess)

1:21 AM

too many spams nowadays
also this stupid had came askubuntu.com/questions/402532/…

if you see here, an actual question was vandalised into 'make me a mod'

we can't do anything may be mod can

Did.
Ping me when they show up.

Just wondering, when a question is bumped by 'Community' does that mean something was deleted?

1:36 AM
how to revert back a close vote

@minerz029 nice catch.

@AvinashRaj that's why I said don't waste close votes
@minerz029 is the same as this meta.askubuntu.com/questions/7218/…

@hbdgaf I'm just wondering if actual users are being hacked by him...

i missed the edit vandalism, but the counterpoint is the OP if not an anonymous user could have said something on meta about it and got the question reopened.

@Braiam close vote on this askubuntu.com/questions/402200/…

1:38 AM
@AvinashRaj ah, that. press "close" then press "retract close vote" ;)

@minerz029 I doubt it. It's a traipse to get to 2k, and the latter edit was a rollback by the OP. The rollback makes me think it's someone minimally obfuscating the fact that they're two people.
@minerz029 wow - it got hard nuked.
i can see deleted and even i can't see it...

@hbdgaf Yeah, it did. 'Page not found' I couldn't see it anymore. I did roll it back to the original (actual) question, then the OP rolled back to the spam one.

that was what i was trying to express.
id:1 - op
id:2 - the editor

mitigator - you

OP rolling back to bad makes me not sad i voted to close, but glad you caught it

@Braiam do you want my answer to be deleted in this askubuntu.com/questions/402026/…

bug in stackexchange? even if a question is hard nuked and you can't see it any more the revisions page is still available? or is it my ISP cache-ing? askubuntu.com/posts/402522/revisions

1:46 AM
page not found

@hbdgaf I think it's you. I'm getting Page not found too

so it's cache-ing. kthx. that's why i asked

@AvinashRaj is up to you ;)

I can see it... but I'm 10k... so... you know...

1:47 AM
@Braiam i can see it too. can you see that revisions page?
and yeah, i think someone is going to see an ip ban soon

@hbdgaf yeah, everything

that's interesting. probably not the desired behavior
MSO or no?

IMO that's the desired behavior for 10kers

even if the original goes to page not found?
it's inconsistent.

What's up?

1:50 AM
@who?

wait, you get 404???

Is someone spamming/trolling again?

plz provide expansion for IMO and MSO

yeh, new attack vector, copy someone else post and then vandalize it @Seth

i don't know about that

1:52 AM
@AvinashRaj In my opinion ; meta stack overflow

I was looking at the answers here:

@Braiam
look at these two links and tell me what you see please:
http://askubuntu.com/posts/402522
http://askubuntu.com/posts/402522/revisions

then tell me if you think it's a consistent behavior

Q: Add user to existing Group

Sparky1I want to add the Apache user (www-data) to the audio group. I've read the man page for useradd, but I'm not having any luck. I'm running xubuntu 11.10. Here's what I'm doing: $ sudo useradd -G audio www-data useradd: user 'www-data' already exists If I leave out the -G option, bash, prints th...

Q: I saw something in chat I don't understand

hbdgafWhat are some of the common chat items? I want to understand what people who are more familiar with other chat clients are trying to say to me.

What's the preferred way to add a user to group? option 1) sudo usermod -a -G [group-name] [user-name], or option 2) sudo adduser user group

1:53 AM
@hbdgaf 404 in the first, when you use /revisions I see the correct post
but I doubt they do redirection of posts/id to question/id

do you think that is the desired behavior? i don't see how it's desire-able.

I know what you meant, so check this one askubuntu.com/posts/301733
the posts/id only works with posts/id/revisions and posts/id/timeline, since posts/id could be an answer too ;)

the regex should have two parts. a site.com/posts/id and a site.com/posts/id/*

@Braiam Has happened before..
hard to detect

and yes, that behavior makes me want to turn the doorknob four times before i exit a room even more.
must be my cdo. it's like ocd, but all alphabetized like it should be.
