@terdon Can't find it now. I guess it's deleted now.
For a moment I was wondering what R/A means...
and then realised that it's a short form of rude/abusive..
@Zanna Can you please move this code comment to the post..

@technastic_tc done :)

@Zanna That was quicker than a flag :)

the flags are no good today. I don't have enough energy to handle them hahaha

@Zanna what happened?

people should downvote instead. But declining flags takes a lot of energy
or they are a bit borderline
better to leave them for the low quality posts queue and see what people think

2:55 PM
oh...
What kind of flags do mods look at? Is it only the "in need of moderator intervention" or others as well?

or, they are duplicate answer flags. Hard work to investigate. Thanks to whoever handled that batch of those earlier haha
@technastic_tc all of them except "should be closed"
including various automatic ones raised by Community (and also by Smoke Detector)

@Zanna oh.. that's a lot of work..
I never knew that Community bot raises flags..

@Zanna please help to circumvent a raid in progress against this question. The direction of the duplication should be reversed and the answer to the linked question has been upvoted 5 times.

@technastic_tc nah :) it's not like you are forced to do it - if you don't feel like doing it, no worries, someone else will. And the not an answer and very low quality flags put posts into the low quality posts queue, so we don't have to handle them all (occasionally some weird sequence of events pushes them out of the queue without resolving the flag and then you have to dismiss it, but that's rare)

@Zanna who is you in "you have to dismiss it"?

3:05 PM
@technastic_tc the mod looking at the flag

@karel done. Merged the unanswered one and deleted it. Merging moves the comments as well. And copied the entire content of the old post into the new one
@technastic_tc I should try not to use "you" in that confusing way (to mean "one")
it's my dialect
everyone is "you" in my region haha

@Zanna Really? Is it the same case with American English?

@technastic_tc sure. well I hear them talk like that

oh.. I always think when someone else say me the word "you", I think they're referring to me. Anyway, looks like my English is bad..

3:09 PM
"one" is very formal - not often used in spoken English or informal writing (like online chat) except for a comedy effect, like pretending to be posh
@technastic_tc sorry for my confusing usage

@Zanna It's ok! It's my bad. I gotta improve my English.
@Zanna "pretending to be posh" haha..

@Zanna brilliant

I'll try to be less ambiguous. It's not usually a problem when speaking because other cues make it clearer what one means, I think
@karel also upvoted Q&A :)
@technastic_tc seems your English is excellent!

@Zanna oh.. really? Thanks for the compliment!
It feels different to hear that from a native English speaker. Thanks once again :)

when I say "you" to mean "one" I'm usually referring to myself but trying to make it sound like anyone could be in the same situation. The intended effect might be to encourage empathy, or to sound humble.
@technastic_tc :)

3:33 PM
@Zanna ok..

8 hours later…
