marked it as duplicate
they stopped official support for 32 bit libs just maintain a small collection still to make tools like steam running
but you need to enable the architecture otherwise you run into packets missing errors and the like

many of the steam install tutorials are wrong in that regard
its what i had to do to overcome the exact same situation :)
 
@Videonauth Fortunately for Ask Ubuntu users I have a gold tag badge on one of the same tags as the tags on that question, so I can fix it by deleting the low quality duplicate link myself after the question is closed.
