Goodnight! :)

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Your Oilers might have a shot this year.

@NathanOsman The guys at work will love that...however I have a San Jose Sharks cap I bought last year for 50 bucks from NHL.com whilst they were the underdogs and I want to recoup my investment :p

It's okay. I'm going for Calgary this year (as always).

At work they say the Flames are on a tear and doing real well lately.
At work I'm surrounded by hockey fanatics :p

Hello, it's been a while

11:08 PM
sigh . . . at some point I should become productive

the "some point" is the problem
now or never

In that case, I'm totally screwed

@IanC Hi how's the new place?

Question: what's the purpose of Tumblr ?

Question: is "bc" the best way to do decimal math in bash?
ie: Adjust=$(($transition_bright*($secTotal/$secPast)))

What you show there $(( )) - that's bash's arithmetic
it dosn't support decimal point
$ bc -l <<< "25.0/4"
6.25000000000000000000
bc does
It's not the best way, but it's pretty good

I need to use "scale=0" in bc so result is bashable right?
I need "Adjust" to be a whole integer between 1 and 800 for example.
haha I guess "whole integer" is redundant :p

yeah, that. Or you could use printf with format string that will trim floating point for you

ok...I'll experiment with this for awhile... and drink beer :p
I think this will work: Adjust=$(bc <<< "scale=0;$transition_bright*($secPast/$secTotal)")

I've been trying this out today: interactjs.io
Thinking it might meet the requirments to make an interactive multi touch wall we are going to do for the church

looks interesting
You know what I was thinking ? Those calculator GUI apps are really going to shine now that we have touch screens. In the past the fact that we have buttons in calcuators was basically pointless - we had to move the mouse which was felt like PITA
Now , it's whole lot of different story with touch screen. You can have pretty TI-89 clone or something on screen and use touch screen to actually press those goddamn buttons

ummm.... with gui calculators I don't move the mouse and click... I use the numeric keypad... unless there is a square root function or something of course then you have to move mouse and click.

sqrt(4)
again, no mouse
