I'm trying to improve this answer. As you can guess, add-apt-repository doesn't work through proxy, and accepted answer doesn't work for me. I tried: Setting and preserving local variables export http_proxy=http://proxy:port export https_proxy=$http_proxy sudo -E which just does nothing edit...

what really frustrates is that everybody are happy and nobody sees that accepted solution is really involving and inconvenient

I've had the same experience with re-installing win. you do the fresh install, then going through the sequential win updates and reinstalling your software takes hours a day for several days or more. Exactly.

it changes the color temperature based on your location
