Coming to think of it, python ( if you know how to quickly use a few tools and keep a boilerplate list of custom functions) can be very very powerful and quick tool for prototyping lots and lots of things. I did this link_windows.py script in about 2.5 hours. Bash version would probably take me half the day, even with boilerplate

Plug in the device
lsblk to find the device name of your usb device. Naming is /dev/sdXY. Where X is any english letter and Y is integer, typically 1.
If the device was mounted, you will see the mountpoint, for example:

I tried this command on a Ubuntu NFS client(10.2.10.204).
sudo mount -t nfs -o vers=3 10.2.150.211:/...
it basically tells Ubuntu "hey, i need to use that disk partition, but i don't want to do a lot of work. do this for me automatically, and tell me what directory you connect to that partition "

i downloaded from http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/glade3/3.8/, unzipped the package and i did ./configure and going very well but when i type 'make' , the errors are:

@gansub Well, I would use some other hacks to make that issue gone, including manually editing /var/lib/dpkg/status. But I didn't in your case, since the communication between us was very laggy and thought A clean install with be better anyway
