10:00 PM
I haven't changed it yet... :P

:D
I'm now lying in the dark with my screen brightness just above minimum.
Looks better now! :D

@fabby basically electrical engineering degree but with more practical approach. We do more labs compared to other local universities. They have it more abstract and more math. We have it more practical but we're considered more as technicians rather than engineers

user139252
@Fabby Do you actually want FirstnameLastname.tk, or something shorter?

@Fabby Why do you hate JS?

user139252
10:15 PM
It's horribly insecure.

user136984
@Seth: "civs"?

I hate js for one reason , it slows down browsers

@TheBrownOne What does that matter on an information website that has no login?

@kos I got it! will post tomorrow into a decent answer :)

user139252
@ParanoidPanda Romans, Persians, Greeks, etc.

10:16 PM
@Serg hmm

user136984
Oh right, you mean the different factions...

user139252
@Zacharee1 If somebody exploits it and starts doing remote code execution...

user139252
Or if I use JS that could hijack your information through other means

user136984
Ah, and I thought that that stood for something! I didn't realise that it was just short for "civilisations"! :D

I disabled js once and jumped around some sites. Google, amazon, AU. So much faster !

10:16 PM
@kos could be later on the day, have a busy schedule tomorrow...
Good night all, will end my vertical position for today. (most likely to sleep @Fabby)

So if it's so bad, is there at least an alternative?

user139252
CSS

@TheBrownOne not for a lot of things

user139252
A large majority of my site is CSS (only the shrinky nav bar is JS) and it can do everything your site can do with JS.

Looks like you figured it out @ParanoidPanda :)
JS isn't bad in its own right, but it often gets much overused. Aka amazon. That site is so freaking slow.

10:23 PM
@TheBrownOne draggable modals that dismiss upon clicking the background?

user139252
Un-needed :P

user139252
But yeah, that's the main issue. As @serg and @seth said, it's a speed thing.

@TheBrownOne please, if you can tell me how to make a modal dismiss upon clicking the background without JS, that would be great
@TheBrownOne Then it's not bad to have

user139252
It's better to make a site that looks good and functions either with or without it.

@TheBrownOne My site has almost full functionality without it. Is there a way to make it so CSS is used instead of JS when JS is disabled?
Would I have to just copy the whole site and put it in <noscript> tags below?
Oh I could use noscript only in the needed areas..
dinner

user139252
10:26 PM
Yeah, that would be a better idea.

user139252
@Fabby Go to YourFirstAndLastName.tk :D

user139252
You have SSH and SFTP(SSHFS) access using the credentials you made previously.

@Serg Thanks for the info... :-)
@TheBrownOne Why not? It's free and available! me@FirstnameLastname would be nice...
@Zacharee1 I don't hate it, it's just superfluous and a security risk.

user139252
I can set that up, but for the next month or so it will just be a redirect to your personal email.

You should see what I can get JavaScript to do on your computer! >:-)
@Serg And that one too! @Zacharee1

user139252
10:40 PM
In just over a month, I'll be able to afford the jump to business class and get my SMTP ports opened up.

@TheBrownOne Wow! trying that out now!
:D :D :D
@TheBrownOne Ah, trying that now...

user139252
The email is now set-up.

@TheBrownOne :D You're faster setting it up then I'm trying it out! ;-)

user139252
I'm highly caffeinated. I got a new French press today.

@TheBrownOne Try the following recipe on the week-end:
A table spoon of Cognac

10:46 PM
woo, I now have departments and tags

A scoop of ice cream

3 double ristrettos
1 spoon of fresh whipped cream
"Café Liégeois"

then this happens when you browse the dangerous commands ;)

@Mateo You're creating your own command-line app on Ubuntu Touch?

10:49 PM
it's a commandlinefu scope :)
next step will be to get it to copy/paste right into the terminal ;)

user139252
@Fabby I will have to do that.

@TheBrownOne test message sent.
@Mateo Ah! I thought you were creating a terminal app!

then maybe I'll try and get some people to make some one-liners specific for ubuntu-touch

@TheBrownOne Hope it doesn't explode
So you guys like GNOME 2 because it has the Applications menu?

things like changing the grid units, deploying ad block with the hosts file, changing to the developer channel, enabling read/write mode, ect

10:53 PM

Got to drive someone to the airport!
Shutting down!

user139252
@Fabby Drive safe!

@Fabby avoid those Javascripts

user139252
11:15 PM
I think everything should follow Material Design.

OK since I can't figure out how to make the slider header in my site work with CSS (too lazy rn), I've disabled it when JS is disabled
@TheBrownOne agreed

user139252
It just looks so nice.

It do :p

user139252

Donald?
Looks nice
Now I just have to make the modals work

user139252
11:16 PM
Old G-Mail account, had to log-in to it to find somebody's contact info.

user139252
I knew somebody's eagle eyes would spot that :P

user139252
It looks nice, though :D

ah

You hacked Donald Trump?

11:33 PM
Ugh
this is hard to do
so I'm giving up for now

user139252
@Zacharee1 What is the point of the modals?

@TheBrownOne they look nice :)
I saw that one. I do have another version which I used before (and which the JS one is based off of I think), but something's weird about it
