@Nathan: I don't mean to make any trouble with my Meta post by the way, I just want it to be clarified, because if the community does want this then it should amend the rules otherwise it is unclear what is on-topic and what is not, and could lead to an unfair system where depending on who's on and how they feel changes what is closed and what is not.

It should state that it is more relaxed then.

The rules state what the Meta site is for, and they in no way cover all this.

If there are rules on what is on-topic and what is not, and they are not followed, then the site becomes unfair because it will depend upon who is online and their opinions.

I certainly feel it is unfair that Nathan can post about games because people like them, but I cannot post about Pandas because people don't like them. The rules are there to keep us in order as well as to keep things fair.

@Serg: The rules state one thing, and it seems that people want to ignore them (not even amend them). Even though this makes things unfair, people don't seem to care.

So people can have off-topic questions about games, but can't have equally off-topic questions about Pandas because people don't want Pandas.

I still think though that just ignoring it and saying something like "life is unfair" isn't the right thing to do.

So if have a game which just so happens to be hosted on Ubuntu it is on-topic to post about it? Now that's just completely ridiculous, I could posts things about coats with the Ubuntu logo then!

You started by arguing that the rules say it, but when it was said that they really didn't, you then started to argue that we just shouldn't follow them.

It just seems to me as though you have a set thing you want to argue and you won't change your mind about it because you started off by saying that the rules say it, and then when you realised that they don't you changed your argument that we just shouldn't follow them and that life was unfair so just to deal with it.
