@Mateo Decided to stop on the webapp "part" of the card game thing for a bit and move over to the back end. So, I have a dummy dbus server/client and I'm working on turning the CLI standalone into a client and server pieces. That way, I can run "test games" against the dbus server/game logic separately from the flask app

@Lucio Oregon trail game from old. You have run out of "resource XYZ". In Oregon, some local self proclaimed "militia" occupied a bird sanctuary, and ran out of food. Their demands to the negotiator started with snacks...

We've had that conversation before, I just don't remember.

So yeah, Europe, that place where I never been and still I hope to be there a lot.

I went to Europe for a short time in HS. Didn't get to do a multi-country tour. Just Italy. Would be nice to just go backpacking across Europe or around NZ.

I am going to retire from computer for a time, start with a new language in a new community in a new etc.

@Mateo was interesting for me. I have a little piece of the sistine chapel somewhere. They were doing a reno, and I picked up a piece of cracked rock/plaster that fell out of one of the walls.

@Lucio I don't want to start over again. It would just be nice to get a couple years ahead on my meager bills (very low) and just take a year long sabbatical.

@Lucio The only thing I didn't like was the lack up public toilets and the prevalence of pickpockets/gypsies.

I here there is a good Ubuntu community there

@Mateo My body didn't adjust to local bacteria well, and I couldn't aim at the pipe, so I had to pay double for a ladies toilet

Ha, I remember one train station had a automatic pay toilet - put coins in and open the door, was decked out like a shower, didn't think about it till exiting, one the door closed again it started cleqning its self like a dishwsher

@Mateo Yeah, I was more off the beaten path. Just pipes sticking up from the floor unless you were using the ladies room. That had a proper throne. I won't make a mess I wouldn't want to clean up... or have to buy new pants.

Funny story. Some of the people that came with us tried a little off the tour sight seeing, fell asleep on the train, and woke up in Austria.

Yeah, cultural differences are so spread out in the US, it's hard or expensive to get from one to another. It's a much faster transition in other places.

@hbdgaf I think something was corrupt, but I think it was something with the directory itself, since I had deleted all the configs before and it didn't work. I also just copied back in what I had copied out.

The thing that makes it interesting for me is that some of Europe is so forward thinking, but with so much history, that it's like going forward and backward in time at the same time...

@Zacharee1 permissions then probably.

They were set to 777 (idc about security enough :p). Interestingly, the new folder was with default permissions (660?), and worked perfectly.

Well, +x to some ~/.xconfig area at one point used to hose the total X11 system, so more lenient permissions can sometimes screw things...

Hmm. Maybe, although the other servers are at 777 too. I guess it's always possible. Ubuntu does mess up in the strangest ways

@Mateo what would you recommend instead? I need to be able to write to the files using SSH (so no GUI root).
