@Amithkk Sorry, my mistake. ChromeOS doesn't use lightdm. It uses chrome's thingy.

Re-write your question so it's something like "How do I change my channels in pavucontrol?"

And not "How can I get skype to find my audio input?"

(it's a dupe the way it is - but it's salvageable, unlike most dupes)

if the gmail cert had been compromised, the one served by gmail itself (unless there's a massive novel dns hack) would still be google's own, remember

only your encryption wouldn't be secure, and you would be vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack

i.e. if VerySign wants a copy of your passport, just go to ShadySSL, who merely require an email

there are also companies who offer certificates to turn you into a certificate authority

then you can sign for anything. you only have to sign a contract saying you won't do it.
