Where are you next Marco?

You give a Lightning Talk?

Yes!
Third in line
Ask UBUNTU

Awesome! :D

5:41 PM
oh
gonna keep that tab

After that? I mean what session are you going to attend? Jorge's IRC session?

How do I install Ubuntu-Tweak? http://askubuntu.com/questions/75454/how-do-i-install-ubuntu-tweak #installation

What

@OctavianDamiean No idea
I might just hide away and work on charms some more

@RolandTaylor - You asked, then you answered and got so many votes? Isn't that farming? :D

5:50 PM
No. That is perfectly valid.

btw a long standing problem on Ubuntu
my T500 got an Intel sound card
it gets muted by default, and volume is 0 in ALSA
so unless you want to listen to your boot sound only (which is lame IMO), you have to open up "alsamixer" and then do "alsactl store"

Sounds like a bug.

well, imho OSS is much better than PulseAudio or ALSA.
Why, you may ask...

Simple. OSS worked for me. Every. Single. Time.
When I had a USB headphone, it worked. When I had multiple sources, it worked.
The graphical mixer is awesome.

Scaling the Ubuntu Community by Taking It Local sounds quite interesting.

desktop boot speed → end of uds. :..(

5:57 PM
No, after that there is Juju Advocacy.

I'll be in that session

Then six months of Ubuntu hacking and then the next UDS. :D

Oh so he checked that there will be no sound
thats cool

(hello)

hey @brunopereira81

5:58 PM
Next UDS I'll attend in person again.

Yes! @OctavianDamiean I might meet you there :)

Awesome! :)

not seeing marco, where is marco? wave at the camera!

I'm not on stage yet :P
When you hear some crazy guy yelling about Ask Ubuntu
you'll know it's me

thanks jorge for killing my speakers
:D

6:00 PM
Okay, going to kill my chat window
so now one pings me on stage :P

That's just sad. :D

@MarcoCeppi your going now?

in 10 mins

NOOO!! I wanted to ping you on stage. :(

Don't want to forget

6:02 PM
@MarcoCeppi gl man! and remember: they are just as scared of you as you are of them!

I think Marco has no problem with that. :)

It is just like a session.

$ make pancakes

Now you mention it, I'm quite hungry. :D

mum --volume 0

6:07 PM
"to control my moms machine" should never be said, its just wrong

oooow
codes are not for moms... not for women. Seriously.

htorque made me crave for pancakes... :S

:P :P :P

TeamViewer should release a linux client imo.

Here is Marco.

6:09 PM
\o/

:D

haha

I kinda hate teamview, its what my company uses for "group discussions", its bad, rly bad

Awesome sentence. :D

6:10 PM
Ah no I only use it to help amateurs. It's really easy.
Link the quick .exe stuff, he/she tells me the codes, there we go
It's slow for normal VNC/RDP use, but perfect for newbies
Hmm
He is in a bit of a hurry... (is the time limited there?)

marco on speed. explaining ask ubuntu in five minutes is insane :D

Yes. Five minutes.

Oh... @htorque agreed. :/
Well, One sentence: Come and visit askubuntu.com.
:D

He is good at explaining it in five minutes though!

still has time left :P

6:14 PM
@OctavianDamiean yeah!

hmm I would make a small xterm open with a small list where to go

I'm a bit worried though. I'm not sure if he breaths.

:D

take one deep breath before the talk
:D

6:16 PM
Good job @MarcoCeppi. :D

Very well done @MarcoCeppi!

yeah!

Ubuntu one costs a bit too much IMHO

6:18 PM
\o/

o/
high-fives

python. bleh. do not want.

Sorry, I was trying to clearly talk as fast as possible
Breathing is for noobs

@brunopereira81 - COMMENTCEPTION

6:24 PM
@brunopereira81 don't scare ubuntu people away :P
@brunopereira81 launchpad.net/~micahg :P

sorry, he deserved it, no? give a user rotten fish and he will be happy, teach him how to fish and he will fish, wait until the fish is wroth and then trow it at you!

:D

@htorque what is there on the PPA?

nothing, that was just informative ;-)

no later version of pidgin, the answer said to remove the ppa that was invalid and that the latest version of pidgin is already in the ubuntu repos, no need to add anything at the moment, I stand correct! :P

6:29 PM
PPAs are really overrated.

its part of the CV I guess, edited the answer to reflect that the answer was valid and that no PPA is needed for version 2.10 of pidgin.

WOW!
That is amazing!

no idea
i have no use for stuff like that

i'm pretty much your average desktop user :..(

6:35 PM
I like PPAs... but I only maintain only one, the one for MediaInfo

Working over SSH on a server just got so much more enjoyable!

@brunopereira81 we are talking about the current talk at uds: video.ubuntu.com/live

@htorque was not listening :(
is this a duo team? not fair, they should get 2,5mins then!

that's fun, there should be more of those sessions

6:41 PM
Thank you Launchpad:
> "You have exceeded today's quota for ubuntu lucid."
Now I can't build the package.

it's not losing information, it's broken

Er...

Bounty offered: How do I install the driver for a Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000? http://askubuntu.com/questions/73357/how-do-i-install-the-driver-for-a-microsoft-lifecam-vx-3000 #webcam

@Allan I didn't really understand all of the commands! what was it about?
this is just so awesome! :)
O yeah! star of the day earned! :D

8:39 PM
@MarcoCeppi Test server setup and ready for working on charms. :D

YEAH BOY!
@OctavianDamiean Which games do you run?

Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 4 (mainly CoD4).

Sweet
Those aren't in Steam IIRC

We could totally use a CoD4 and BF2 server charm
Pull down the minecraft charm for an example

8:53 PM
I'll take a look. Shouldn't be too much of a problem. The only problematic part is that you have to have the Call of Duty 4 files from the DVD uploaded to the server.

yeah, so you can push those files on to S3 if you had to

So we have some very exciting months in front of us eh?
Writing Charms like a boss!

Hell yes
I'm super pumped for Charmin'

2 hours later…
10:46 PM
I've created Debian packaging for the new version of FlackBot.
Can it go in the Ask Ubuntu Tools PPA?

10:58 PM
Hmm

Q: SE Editor Toolkit

Jakub Hampl There's been an onslaught of rather difficult to read questions on SO lately. A lot of them are just plain close-fodder, but many are just from d ppl ,who spk teh internetz lingo and hence make my eyes bleed are pretty much incomprehensible without extensive parsing/editing. They also somehow ...

This doesn't seem to work for me.

11:23 PM
