Whenever I do a format on my computer, I try to use gimp again, and its always horrible. They need to use system native UI for file management, that alone drives me away.
Trying to save a file is way too annoying. I have to constantly navigate to the correct directory, instead of having it remember my directory, or allow me to paste in a path like I can do in photoshop or any other windows program

yeah I can see that. I usually save WIP stuff to my desktop until it's ready to actually stick into the project, so I can just click the shortcut on the left most of the time.
I mean sometimes I have to work on it and keep testing it inside the program itself, but that hasn't been very common for me.
@AttackingHobo okay, about pasting file paths: you can actually do that in the text box at the top, along with the file name, like "C:\Users\Icy\Desktop\test.xcf", and it will then save it on the Desktop
