I have different ideas from my partner. If we are eating e.g. in an Indian restaurant, and he has something I've never had before, I'll say "ooh, that looks good, can I try some?" and as a Brit I would find it normal if he tidily separated a piece from the other side and pushed it over to me. 30 years ago he refused every time. He's got used to the idea now. But he will very seldom try mine; "I ordered what I wanted and I don't want yours." I personally find that a bit rude, but it seems to be a German thing. —
