@Jesse I have a constant fear of texting people just because I expect them to respond with a phone call. I always set my phone to DND immediately after a text just as a precaution. — jipsaw 1 min ago

I don't think it is rude. The not moving aside was slowing down the line so she had to say something for the shake of other costumers, so I would be glad him/her notifying me if I was distracted and obstructing the line. Now, if I was obstructing the line I wouldn't give back the receipt since I wouldn't want to occupy the line any longer. — clark 27 secs ago

I've already said sorry, to which they've said "Don't worry about it". So I'm looking for the social etiquette for how to respond to that, or to conclude that conversation. — insanity 30 secs ago

Answering the question of what you hope to achieve by responding to her should change this from "what should I do" to a more answerable question — Jesse 2 mins ago

I agree with avazula that this isn't a full answer. I've left you a comment on another of your posts with suggestions for how to go about making your answers better. I hope you'll take the time to do that and not get discouraged. — Spagirl 2 mins ago

I agree to this.If it got worse, your memories will be tainted by the massive amount of effort and fall-out with your family to get the money. Some things are better left alone. — Emily7687687 44 secs ago

@DeutcheKnabe it is okay to have different opinions. If you do, you can write your own answer (which you did, well done), but you should not go commenting on other answers and say why you don't like them. If you really dislike an answer, downvote it. Or if you think the answer violates the site rules, you can flag it. Comments are solely to suggest improvements or ask for more information. Thank you. — Cashbee 1 min ago

You may want to check your years... If you read the question, you will see that the second agreement happened after 2 years, not after 5. Not necessarily a big deal, except that the number of years is a recurring theme in your answer. — Peter Abolins 1 min ago

+1 but lose the punctuation please. You're not a schoolgirl writing to her girlfriend, you're a professional responding to a professional request. — rath 1 min ago

This isn't worth an answer but I'm not sure this is something you're supposed to talk about. Are you investing money in it? Because otherwise I'm not sure you can critique what your family does with its money. — avazula 57 secs ago

While I agree with the answer mostly, I just wanted to correct you on "that smell may linger." No, it does not linger. You may not like it, like you may not like the breath of a colleague, but it doesn't linger any longer than that breath. — BlindSp0t 1 min ago

@avazula Okay, so I suggest to respond in such situations like this: "please send me the specification and the deadline by email, I'll consult my calendar and send you an invoice if I can fit it in my schedule." Professional, good willing and not promising anything but an answer that, as suggested, may be negative. Specification only may filter such nagging people because it needs effort on their side. Attach the specification to the invoice/contract. — Ctrl-C 1 min ago

@Spagirl It's a matter of perspective. The OP is all about enforcing the second agreement which is clearly in his favour - it gives him a valuable collection of rare vinyl. He is quick to say that the original agreement which was clearly in his friend's favour was unfair because his girlfriend didn't like the records lying around (although she is fine with them on a shelf). If he is to achieve his goal of "no argument" he has to see the other point of view. — Astralbee 18 secs ago
