and then I realize it would have been best to remove that dependency and move it somewhere else, because, for example, I wouldn't be passing references around so much now

an example would be an effect that shows some shiny stars when the player touches the screen

I coupled it too tightly with the input checking, so when it came to adding the same effect in another circumstance (when the player picks an object up) it was impossible without complete decoupling or a workaround

I didn't really think about using the effect that way back when I first made it

so my first implementation made sense in my head

anyway my advice is, don't sweat it

amazing architectures can become useless or downright damaging to the project depending on what unforeseen changes come up

if you want to write great code, just gain more experience

and learn how to protect yourself from changes

Even if I had finished my gamejam code in time, the map prebake would have taken longer than the time I had anyways
