what's the differens between ambient and emmision in game lighting?

if I'm not wrong there is no source for ambient light, but emission needs a source.

think of ambient light as sun, it's so bright that can easily lighten up everything in the room even if sun light can't reach it directly.

while the other is just lamp, it can only lighten up places it can reach

sounds about right... maybe the ambient also has to do with fogs and whatnot... no?

I see same argument about D3. THey just have nostalgia for D2.

D2 is cantankerous and unpleasant in comparison

interface just isn't as good

I played D2 for years, losing probably 20 characters in Hardcore over level 35

I just thought they really made some solid improvements with D3. Great audio as well. I played with some great headphones; really good stuff

Right. I skipped D2 because I played way too much D1 and was sick of the genre

I enjoyed it at the time, but after being dragged in to D3 with some friends, I am really sick of the genre

I don't think SC2 screwed anything up really from SC1, but in D3's case while combat itself was more fun, building a character was less fun

and it was really jarring to me how the WoW low-level quest progression was so well-tailored to your level curve. There were almost neon signs showing you which areas you were supposed to be playing in

eheh I dunno, nah not really, I think the lightning is a bit advanced I think x)

It's just a function that you pass 2 floats, and it returns the greatest of the 2
