But it was a little unexpected to me. At least Cooper, Bale and Defoe were pretty obvious candidates.

And since I think the Best Picture is likely to play out between Bohemian Rhapsody and Roma, this at least shifts the chances a little more over to their side.

Usually, there is a broader trend of a few movies getting all the prizes. If the Academy likes a film, they tend to like everything about it.
