@AnkitSharma You can ask your V for Vendetta questions now! Dammit! If only I had known that John Hurt was going to die, I would have saved the questions that I just asked ;)
I'd like to thank Ankit for suggesting the topic and Steelersquirrel and Ankit for encouraging me to participate. I'd also like to thank DrRDizzle and Walt for answering my question that I had in my mind for last one month. And the last, but not least, I am grateful to Napoleon for sponsoring the challenge. :-)
In the DW episode Flesh and Stone, the weeping angels are shown to turn to stone when nobody's looking.
This is when Amy is trying to find the doctor with her eyes closed.
The weeping angels turn to stone when they see amy. But then when they realize she can't see them, they start to move.

Well, it could be like SE History and tell you that you're not likely to get an answer to your question...
@steelerfan that's my point. If the guy's own name is in dispute, there's practically no hope of tracing him to anything. Your research on the topic would be as good as anybody else's here. — setobot5000Sep 30 '15 at 0:37
January 27th saw the death of renowned actor John Hurt who looked back on more than 50 years of acting. So in honour of him and due to popular demand we're starting a new topic challenge. From 2017-01-30 00:00 UTC to 2017-02-05 23:00 UTC we're challenging you to all your great questions about Joh...
@setobot5000 Well, since this is a site dedicated to history, I was posting this question to inquire if anyone else happened to be more knowledgeable on the subject. Isn't that why users post on SE sites? — steelersquirrelSep 30 '15 at 0:40
That was my last post on that frigging site.
@Riker Hey!!! I asked a question about that episode, too!!!
In the "Blink" episode (Season 3, episode 10), Sally learns that the Doctor is attempting to communicate with her through hidden messages called "Easter Eggs" within seventeen separate DVDs. Larry, the owner of the DVD shop explains that there are seventeen DVDs and compiles a list containing th...
If I was confronted with someone who could only communicate through symbols, my first instinct would be to also communicate through symbols. In fact the entire basis of many languages is pictorial (hieroglyphics, Chinese symbols). One thing I don't understand is why at no point was there any atte...
The ship is an egg=sign of fertility; the bird in the cage =the unborn child; the aliens are the possible children... in the beginning the vision of her daughter with a cowboy custom mounting a horse gives her daughter many legs like the aliens... And, the aliens writings are in the form of the T...
I came across a poem titled, Saathi, Sab Kuch Sahna Hoga (You have to tolerate this all, my friend) by Harivansh Rai Bachchan. I read this poem years ago and it is taken from an older book. Here is an excerpt of this poem:
मानव पर जगती का शासन, (Human is ruled by the earth)
जगती पर संसृति क...
I broke a new record on research time on an answer on the Rand's question that I answered. The most that I have ever spent researching a question was about 8 hours over on SE History. 3 hours for SE literature on an answer. And about 48 hours on researching a question over here, but I still didn't find an answer. If I ever answer it, that would be the new record for Ixrec's Pulp Fiction question.
In the 2008 film The Oxford Murders, the late John Hurt plays Arthur Seldom, a renowned professor of mathematics and logic at the University of Oxford. The film also refers to the proof of "Bormat's last theorem" - an obvious reference to Fermat's last theorem - which fixes the setting of the fil...
He was asking me and I thought that it might be the "reference" one, but I wasn't sure. I noticed that someone tried to put "realism" on it and you removed it.
In the 60's I saw an old faded out movie probably not a talkie A white man was speaking to a chief Next thing I know he is buried to his head Then all the Indians are running and the calvary are chasing them Cannot find this movie anywhere My son does not think it exists
In the movie Arrival, the main character has dream-like premonitions of events that happen later.
She also has what is apparently a premonition in which she meets the Chinese general at a formal state function, and he tells her his private phone number. Then after waking from this premonition, s...
OMG. Do ya think that there are enough symbolism questions about Animal Farm over on literature? "What does the piece of dirt in the barnyard represent?" :P
I'm tempted to ask the obligatory "What does the white whale represent" in Moby Dick ;)
I brought in a whole cucumber to eat for my dinner and I was rushed, so I just threw it on my desk when I got to work and if one more of my co-workers walks in and makes a cucumber joke at my expense, I am going to lose it ;)
Harvey Dent says Jim Gordon can only say sorry after he lies to a loved one saying they will be fine only to know they will die. But what is Gordon being asked to apologize for? Not saving Rachel in time?
@AnkitSharma Didn't watch any of his movies except Harry Potter and Skeleton Key. I don't have any question from both movies because I watched them long ago and don't have intentions to watch again.
In the 1986 film "The Wraith" starring Charlie Sheen, a ghostly race car comes back for revenge against the drag-racer gang that killed its driver. Each time one of the gang members dies, a metal brace on the driver's outfit can be seen on the ground right before it glows with a white light and t...
Film historians and fans have contemplated on the symbolism of oranges in The Godfather. The primary interpretation being that whenever an orange is shown, there is impending doom on either the person handling the orange or an orange being shown in the scene:

In S11E20 god/Chuck has been introcuded. At first, Chuck "showed" himself to Metatron. Besides Metatron is an angel, he needs to wear sunglasses to see Chuck's light.
Why doesn't Dean need sunglasses when Chuck and Amara vanish in S11E23?
Not sure if I have 10 or more but saying that sound better

After a Movie isn't shown anymore in Theaters, what happens to it?
I assume it is kept on a hard drive.
Is the harddrive returned to the publisher or is it kept by the Theater?
Is there anyway to obtain one of those?
Recently I was rewatching Love Actually in TV and before it started a warning appeared:
This movie contains stroboscopic effects.
Since you don't often see this kind of warning before a movie it made me really curious. I spent the entire projection trying to spot these effects, but I failed...
@AnkitSharma I think it's pretty obvious that it's the only one of the Dark Knight trilogy that was written by David S. Goyer. It's really clunky in places.
(Also, Nolan's inability to film action is really apparent in Batman Begins, especially when compared to more modern superhero films)
Blade trilogy was bleh, Iron man 1 was good and RDJr was always good but the sequels were not as good , sony ruined spider-man 3, Hellboy stopped after 2nd, fortunately Ghost rider filmseries is over
In Star Wars, ships burn when hit by laser fire, as in this scene:
An examination of the scene at 2:16 shows the clone pilot along with the flaming pieces of his ship. Why is the ship on fire anyway in space. Isn't space a vacuum?
At 2:27, the ARC-170, after be...
@DrRDizzle Problem with The Dark Knight is Heath Ledger, he just take over the whole film and make other two film weak in compare even when they are pretty good too
I expected similarly good performance form Jared Leto but got disappointed
@AnkitSharma I don't think that's the only reason that The Dark Knight stands above the other two films. It's got a better plot, its themes are better realised, Aaron Eckhart is great as Harvey Dent, the action is significantly better...
I can't stand V for Vendetta. I love the idea behind it, but as a film it falls flat for me.
The Wachowski's are very hit and miss, and that was a clear miss as far as I'm concerned. That being said, I haven't seen it in a while, so maybe my opinion will have changed.
I am extremely upset by President Trump’s executive order on immigration. It is immoral, unconstitutional, and fundamentally un-American.

A few years ago I saw a film (or at least I think I did). My memories are terribly vague but perhaps someone can help me.
The film was set in the modern era. The protagonist is a woman with a young child. She is trapped in some mental facsimile of her real life, as the result of a near-fatal acc...
In The Skeleton Key, Ben Devereaux had a stroke which left him paralyzed and unable to speak. It is later revealed that Ben never did have a stroke and he is paralyzed and cannot speak due to more sinister reasons.

The main political theme of the V for Vendetta comic was anarchy vs. fascism. But the movie didn't turn out that way.
Alan Moore himself said:
[The movie] has been "turned into a Bush-era parable by people too timid to set a political satire in their own country.... It's a thwarted and frus...
Original story was about UK but Wacgoswskis gave it US touch
My problem isn't that I wanted a gun fight instead of a sword fight or anything like that. My problem is the action (as I remember it) was really cheesy and mostly bad.
