Q: Unknow movie: "she cut my face!"

elbarnaI see this movie when I was a child,so is passed a long time..about 30 years. Is a movie about gang street violence, similar to Defiance. I remind only one scene,a girl(probably a prostitute) cut the face of one the gang and he said before killed her "she cut my face!she cut my face!!!". The gang ...

Q: How has this opening title sequence from Atkinson's Maigret been made?

cmpI've recently become fixed on how superbly the opening titles for Maigret (staring Rowan Atkinson) is made: I wish to know: Would Rowan have had to have acted this out? As in, recorded a 5-6 second shot of him turning slightly so the camera can zoom into him,...

I would dearly like to know what kind of supergenius at BBC came up with "The Misketeers" tagline ("They stand resolutely for social justice, for honor, for valor, for love")
Have they actually read the bloody book? D'Artagnian was a borderline rapist. Athos murdered his wife for honor. They shamelessly abused their servants. Athos was a terror to poor tavern owner and threatened to kill him for daring to ask to pay he bill. They relished the idea of murdering poor Hugenots, never mind the English (and i'm just going at random). They were effing aristocrats and proud to be and behaved appropriately.
@steelersquirrel "just want the love"? Are you telling me those "Every kiss begins with Kay" jewelry commercials lied to me?

Hi folks. I'm the author of movies.stackexchange.com/q/65835/12783, which is in danger of being closed because it's too broad. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any feedback on how to improve it. Do any of you have advice on what I can do?

Q: Was the "Tall Man" who abducted David the mother?

Sean DugganIn The Tall Man from 2012, there is a legendary "Tall Man" who takes children. The character of Julia Denning has her child, David, taken while she sleeps, and she goes on a prolonged chase of the blackclad figure. I feel like there ought to be some evidence to be drawn from the film, possibly...

@AJ I see that you have a pretty high reputation. Do you have any suggestions for how I can improve my question that is in danger of closing.
A J
A J
I am only looking for published analysis from film critics
This line is making it possibly too broad.
There are many movie reviewers across the world.
IMO
@AJ Thanks. If I limited it to those in the industry and academics, would that work?
A J
A J
Possibly
05:06
My goal was to exclude the average moviegoer's opinions and just get expert opinons.
A J
A J
It can work
The downside would be that eliminating critics would take out the last two points of my answer.
And I'd like to keep those if possible, especially the second to last one.
A J
A J
Keep them in your answer with a separate note.
Anyway, +1 for research efforts.
If you can get answer from some reviewers who are in industry and academics, it'd be good too.
Thanks, I'll think about how that works. I appreciate you taking the time to provide some feedback.
A J
A J
@Thunderforge I don't think if I can help you further with your question. It'd be better if you ping moderators here, they might help you more.
05:12
What do you think about changing the question title to something like "Have people in the film industry or academics given explanations for why video game movie adaptations have received poor critical reception?"
Not nearly as pithy, but it's clear that I'm trying to limit the scope.
And you're right, asking moderators would be better too.
A J
A J
@Thunderforge It's very long title. Try a shorter version.
@Thunderforge Ping them here.
Is there a good way to see who the moderators are?
Cool, thanks!
If I ping a moderator who isn't in the room, will they get a notification? Right now, Ankit is the only one here.
A J
A J
@Thunderforge Try like "Is there any authoritative explanation about poor critical reception of video game movie adaptations?"
05:16
Ooh, I like that better.
A J
A J
@Thunderforge Try Ankit and Napoleon by using @ before their names.
Right, but Napoleon isn't in this room. Would they get a notification?
@AJ "Bring Attention to this question".
A J
A J
@Thunderforge Yes, they will.
@Passerby OP clearly accepted your answer. Are you looking for better than yours?
Great, thanks.
@AnkitSharma @NapoleonWilson I'm trying to improve Why have video game movie adaptations have always gotten poor critical reception?, which is in danger of being closed as "too broad". Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve it?
I'm wanting to approach it from a film studies perspective, looking for authoritative explanations from those in the industry, academics, etc. and exclude average joe explanations, but that doesn't seem to be getting across.
05:24
@AJ upvotes to op
06:00
@Thunderforge I really have no suggestion for it now. I don't even have any problem with ur question or answer and even upvoted them. Lets see if napolean have any opinion on it
@AnkitSharma Thanks, I made a few changes since I pinged you.
Notably changing the title
@AnkitSharma If the changes were good ones, then we'll just keep it the way it is I guess. I wish it was possible to cast preemptive reopen votes; I hate having close votes piling up.
lets see
06:19
@AnkitSharma Any thoughts? I'd like to sign off for the night.

@AnkitSharma @NapoleonWilson Can't reviewers see the multiple accounts clearly?
Though I have rejected this edit, but it got approved.
Anyway, I have voted to reopen it.
11:56
Ufff so many ping form so many rooms
@Thunderforge A problem seems to be that there are just too many different films that can fail for a multitude of inidividual reasons. I think a good idea might be to prelude your question with something like "is there even some general analysis for why those films generally tend to fail?" and then going into "if yes, then what's the reasons". This would IMHO help to shut off any "false premise" cries a little.
This way you don't automatically assume that they all fail for some universal reason inherent to video games, but have that premise as part of the question. Which would help to turn something that looks like a broad question about the critical failure of thousands of films at once into a general analysis of cinema history.
But that's just some fast ideas. Mind you, I just skimmed over the question without any comments and didn't have time to engage it before. ;-)
@AJ Um, I guess they did, which is why they Approved the edit. So where's the problem?
