@Buffybot @Richard Don't leave, whatever you do. I'm puzzled as to why you two got extensions and I didn't, but I know that if I ask about it, I won't get an answer because privacy and stuff.
@CapyStenchbeast The ops usually have to be really reactive... when the camera moves, they have to keep the boom out of shot (and its shadow) and still have to manage to get as close as they possibly can to the frame. A still boom wouldn't be as responsive.
@CapyStenchbeast I'm sure you'll get a good answer. I don't have time to address all of your points right now but there are some knowledgeable people about.
1) There is literally no point in protesting my suspension. It was largely prompted by my (to my mind perfectly valid) decision to flag Shog's posting telling everyone to "STFU" and is basically their way of spiting me. Protesting about a CM is pointless, hence I shan't bother.
2) On my return, I am evidently deeply unwelcome in the chatroom so Buffybot will remain purely a creature of Movies:SE
3) On my return, my sole course of action in protest is to simply withdraw my labour until my ban is complete. I intend to post answers but not edit, flag or follow the review queues. While I appreciate that this might seem a small (and largely futile) gesture, it's notable that I am the site's single largest editor by a factor of nearly 3
4) I don't intend to arrange any further 'movie nights'. If others wish to do so, I will be happy to lurk and watch along, but obviously if I'm not in a position to contribute, then it's worthless being the one who sorts them out.
@Walt There was unpleasantness in SF&F's chat last week. Three of us were suspended for a week and the room was frozen. The room has since reopened, and my suspension ends tonight, but the other two got extended suspensions. That's about it.
An Italian film about a guy whose girlfriend leaves him because of his obsession with photography. Probably from 1970s or 1980s.
In one scene he photographs himself, zooming in his eye.
He has a small billiards table at home. Italian style, with pins.
I don't think it's fair to @NapoleonWilson and @AnkitSharma to fill their site's main chat with the dirty laundry of another site any more than we've already done.
I saw it as a child in the 1970s. A puppet animation probably from Middle or Eastern Europe.
Story is about someone (probably a princess) whose parents are told a singing voice will attract her to death. They close all the doors and windows but one small window high up is left open.
There's a ...
I remember watching a film when I was a child in the 80's. I think it was a children's film, and was either British or American. A group of witches (I think three) running an orphanage or workhouse type establishment. I remember children being forced to run on a hamster-wheel type contraption to ...
Does anyone know the name of a European movie from the 1980´s or early 90´s about a boy who grows up in a socialist-comunist society and grows like an almost mute adult, violent, etc. ? I remember a scene of boys having a bath with cold water in a school, and the boy calling the teacher "comrade"...
@CapyStenchbeast Ah, cool! They wrapped shooting yesterday.
I have an old high school friend (who I've not seen since HS) who's working Grip and Electric on Walking Dead and he posted a photo of the wrap present he got from his lead.
@Catija I'm surprised they confirmed it so early. But I guess the comic book readers had it figured out, so there was no point pretending it was a secret.
i probably should have attempting that, my other account actually was worth more then i had gifted myself, since i originally ran it at home, and this one from work. probably would have still gotten in trouble, but now we have a few no owner questions and answers floating around
@steelerfan sadly i have to leave the comfort of my home for a house warming party tonight, so ill be starting my friday night schedual later then usual :(
How can i remove salt from a saline infused pork roast. I purchased 4 of them.
After making the first one I could not eat it. I am on a low sodium diet.
@Himarm That's her!! I cooked a dish from a cookbook of hers that my sister has. It was like doing calculus. I was so confused. I had to google what "fold" meant in cooking terms. It wasn't pretty.
@Catija Feel free to call me an absolute dumbass. I hate cooking terms. Why couldn't they just say 'stir lightly' how in the hell am I supposed to know what 'fold' means.
Because it's not "stir lightly" you have to pull the material from the bottom and fold it over onto the top... it's really important when you have airy stuff you don't want to deflate.

@Catija Honestly, if I got any type of enjoyment from cooking, I would. I just have meals for myself now, so I just make simple things.....like salad :)
@steelerfan The first CIA recipe I ever made called for "lightly toasted flour". It was a disaster. Without the fundamentals, you have no way of knowing.
I don't really like watching cooking shows. I like Bobby Flay and watching Iron Chef sometimes, but the judges are such pretentious assholes, it ruins it for me.

Confession: I was such a wuss as a kid that I was scared of Pigs in Space. And the news anchor who always had funny things happen to him. And Sweetums.
