@MovieReel I don't like questionable random links... GRRRR
I just realized my single question on Ask Different (Apple.SE) has over 12K views in a month. I guess a lot of people don't like the Apple update reminders.

Tiffany TylerI remember seeing a scary movie on TV a bunch of times but can't remember the title. I remember this family moves into a new home near some woods. Their young son starts drawing on the walls of two little girls stick figures and and a red tall man stick figure leaning over them. There's another...

VThomasI remember seeing a TV movie or show in the late 1970s with a siblings, a pre-teen boy and girl, who wore pendants in the shape of a pyramid. I was 4 to 7 years old when this came out, so I don't remember too much else. Hoping someone can ID this for me. thanks!

Q: Does anybody know the title of this movie?

GregIf I am not mistaken, it was made in the 90's, the plot takes place in the 19 or early 20 century in London (possibly Paris). A country boy goes to the big city (for a sport competition?). A fellow takes him to a club, he meets then sleeps with a girl. While she thinks he is asleep, steals his mo...

Q: How was pre-title opening in Spectre shot?

wallykThe opening scene in 2015's Spectre has a long continuous sequence which, as an amateur filmmaker, is difficult to figure out how it might have been done. The movie begins as an apparent crane shot over a Mexico City Day-of-the-dead parade. The camera slowly comes down to shoulder level while t...

Q: What's the problem with the temperature getting to 88 degrees?

JoeIn the Black Books episode "Fever", the characters are complaining that the temperature might get all the way up to 88 degrees. They're in the UK, so I'd assume they mean 88 C, but that's ridiculously hot -- nearly hot enough to boil water. 88 F is actually a rather nice temperature for the sum...

@Catija Do you still watch Project Runway? I stopped watching a while ago. I really like the old episodes when they re-run them on Bravo. I always watch Halloween Wars on Food Network. I love that show. I like watching cooking shows, but I hate to cook. I am the worst cook in America. I believe there is a show for that as well :)
09:03
@steelerfan nice picture
@AnkitSharma Thanks, I finally found a recent picture just of myself. It took me a while and my nephew had to help me upload it, but it got done :)
It worked :)
Anyways i have finally decided to start gym from 16th.
I hope this time its regular
Cool. What type of workout are you doing?
Not decided anything
Mostly to make my biceps bigger for tattoo :D
Gotcha. a lot of protein and a lot of weight lifting and time. Just my advice: Don't use the drink mix weight gain stuff, it has hormones in it that is bad for you, I would just try and do it natural with your diet.
09:16
I will go for natural
Soya milk, eggs etc
Anyways i am ----vegetarian--- egg-iterian too
Good for you. That's the only way to go!
Yeah, just need to recover my health which is bit down a bit and this week is festive time here too.
What are you guys celebrating over there?
Diwali, festival of lights, crackers, sweets etc
And Bhai Dooj, festival of sister/brother relationship
And 1-2 more small festival mid between
That looks totally cool. I wish we had stuff like that over here. It seems like all of our holidays have no meaning, they are just commercialized.
09:26
Here festival are more on mythological based, family based and few national ones
But many are regionals
So, do you have sisters that participate in the Bhai Dooj festival with you?
2, one nearby and second in different city
Anyways this festival also means brother have to empty they pockets too :D
She will apply tilak and give sweets and brother gives takes of protection and gift.
That is so cool. I always wanted a brother, got stuck with one sister ;)
Heheheheh, I always wished for a brother.
09:55
Well, at least they are having fun with my new picture over in Mos Eisley. Richard already photo-shopped me into a Bengals crowd with a Bengals hat on and everyone decides to star it. They really suck.
10:08
lol
Let me see
@steelerfan used google to know what bengals means :D
@AnkitSharma Ha! Yeah, they are in the same division as the Steelers and they are undefeated. Richard has all of a sudden become a fan since they are my rivals. (sigh)

Attempting to work on a James Bond question. I am afraid it might be too "trivia" like. Need to read up on the trivia definitions again.......
13:24
@NapoleonWilson Are you watching football today/tonight?
@steelerfan Yes.
@steelerfan "Need to read up on the trivia definitions again..." - Good luck! ;-P
@NapoleonWilson Steelers are playing the early game at 10am, so I am staying up after work to watch :(
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, I just need to make sure the question will be legit.

14:56
@steelerfan Hmm, this evening football collides with Skyfall. But fortunately the latter reruns at night so I can watch it after football.
15:53
@steelerfan Not really. When they add new seasons to Amazon, I'll watch them... I'd started watching one season about six months ago on Hulu or something but I didn't like it. They decided to do men and women (which is fine, in general) but they'd changed most of the judges and most of the things I liked about the show were gone.
@AnkitSharma I think you mean vegetarian. A veterinarian is an animal doctor. ;)
Holy crap! I hit a deer on the way home from work :(
@Catija Agreed! I liked it better about 5-6 years ago.
@NapoleonWilson Are you getting the Steelers/Raiders game?
@steelerfan Oh no! I just heard somewhere that November is the worst month for deer accidents!
@Catija Yeah, about a mile from my house. The bucks are in rut right now, so they are all acting like fools and running all over the place.
@steelerfan Is your car OK?
@Catija Yeah, I drive my Tahoe in the fall/winter. I have a brush guard on the front of it. The deer didn't fair so well I am afraid :(
16:05
@steelerfan Yeah, I didn't want to ask. :( Poor thing.
@Catija my brother in law is coming over right now to "take care" of it.
@steelerfan I hope he gets there quickly.
@Catija The deer is already dead, but he wants the meat off of it. We don't waste anything over in these parts.
@steelerfan No, apparently Packers/Panthers and Broncos/Colts.
@steelerfan Oh, ok. That's good. Venison can be very good if prepared properly... and maybe it's a bit more tender now?... sorry... bad joke.
16:09
@steelerfan Well, on the bright sight, you got a nice dinner!
@NapoleonWilson Those are both going to be good games. Good football today, I can feel it!
@Catija hehe, not a bad joke at all :)
@NapoleonWilson Yeah, it has to hang for a few days and then dinner :)
Speak of the devil, the great white hunter himself is here. See you guys in a bit.

Q: Life of Jesus set in modern times

michauWas there ever a film about the life of Jesus set in modern times? I mean, not about Jesus coming again, but rather, about sort of alternative history - what would the biblical narrative about the life of Jesus look like if the setting was the modern world, not first-century Palestine. The idea i...

@MovieReel Not an ID question... Seems like a list question. Any thoughts @NapoleonWilson
@Catija Not sure, need to read it beforehand. But we had similar stuff in the past. Some got closed (e.g. one about Thomas Mann's Zauberberg) and some stayed open (e.g. one about Alexander The Great).

@steelerfan You have every reason to watch good movies.
So I just finished the Firefly arc of Gotham, putting me only an episode out of step with the current season. Man this season has been great.

Q: Need help, cannot find this movie!

NameThatMovieI watched a movie on cable (most likely on IFC or Sundance, but possibly another paid movie channel) sometime between 2004 and 2006. Q: Is the movie "Vacation" (2015) a sequel, reboot, or remake?

tcrosleyI saw the movie "Vacation" (2015) on DirecTv last night. I consider the new movie to be a sequel to the original film (National Lampoon's Vacation, 1983), since the plot revolves around the character Rusty, who is the son of the character named Clark played by Chevy Chase in the original (Chase ...

@Walt The whole thing actually reminds me of Escape from LA, which is both a bit of a sequel, yet it references the story not enough in-universe but more out-of-universe, to be regarded a remake at the same time. And then it on the one hand pays tribute to the original, while on the other hand (be that intentionally or not) also parodizing it. So it's a sequel/remake/homage/parody, and that from the same director, an altogether interesting work from that viewpoint alone.
@NapoleonWilson Sure, quite a few films do this. Paying tribute to the original, often with a cameo. But if you absolutely have to put one label on them, I guess one definition could be seen as dominant. I consider Escape from LA as a sequel.
@NapoleonWilson Woot! Sleep? Nooooo, too jacked up after that game. My brother in law and nephew actually ended up staying here to watch the game. It's always more fun to have others that are as nuts as you watching the Steelers. Panthers are still undefeated too :)
Oh, right, guys, there sure was a lot of footballing today. With the intereptions and the huddles and the Kia ads.
(...Yeah, I don't really watch it. Could you tell? :P)
@NapoleonWilson stressed about Ben. Hopefully his foot will be ok :(
@Walt Man, you're missing out. Great games so far today. Broncos/Colts shaping up to be good!
@steelerfan I do follow a couple of sports, but they're kinda weird. You'll probably beat me up and take my lunch money!

Q: Title of Latin American movie from the 90s

GrahamLatin American comedy, early-90s. A brunette in a red dress is doing a college assignment using a secretly-hidden video camera. She tells us this (subtitled because the language is, I think, Spanish) in the first part of the film. The whole film is shot from the camera's POV. She seems to be ex...

@steelerfan I do know plenty of people obsessed with it, though
@Walt Never! I wouldn't dream of it <sprinkling ashes clockwise at shrine>
@steelerfan Nah, you can stop doing that. FDA ruled against it
@Walt hmmmm.... :)
I don't really follow any other sports at all, especially not any regional ones. The only sport I follow takes place on the other side of the world. Though, during world and European championships I also follow soccer, but that's really the only time.
23:36
@steelerfan Know a guy who's really into the 49ers
Though, my home town even does have an American Football team, but I never managed to visit one of their games, primarily because I don't know anyone else who gives a damn about football and would accompany me. ;-(
@MovieReel Those hammocks are death traps
@Walt Never!!
Dang it, I (sadly) knew this one. Where was I?
@NapoleonWilson What? Which team? Do tell.
23:47
@Catija I forgot how short (though hilarious!) it was. Barely an hour, especially when you FF the bits with no Marxes or Dumont. ;)
Off to watch something silly
@Walt I didn't remember that scene. I remembered Affleck hitting himself in the face with a champagne cork, but I didn't think he proposed.
@Walt See ya :)
Touchdown!!!!! Tie game!!! Woot!!
@steelerfan The Chemnitz Crusaders.
@steelerfan And that after the Broncos didn't really get to wake up in the first half.
@steelerfan "Rest", not sleep.
