Is Black egg on the Dr House office desk is the reference to Tesla's 'Egg of Columbus'?

I was born in 88 and i was like 5 or 6 i think where i snuck to the living room one late night as a kid and watched the animated movie where a girl at the end dies from a villain with a knife. It didn't show any blood or violence. But i remembering balling my eyes out all night till morning becau...
I remember watching a movie years ago about a teenager in Cali that picked up a radio signal from space that was trying to warn people of earth that the sun was going supernova. So he listened and himself and others that listened to it lost their hair and turned grey and was able to go outside du...
I saw a movie perhaps 5 or 10 years ago that I remember to be really good, but I do not remember its title any more.
The only thing I remember about it is that it had a funny scene in which 2 friends were bathing each one inside a floor mounted restaurant boiling pan.
It was definitely not an ...
I saw this movie a long time ago, I think on IFC - I just remember an angel stopping time by pulling a steam-punk kind of lever. Driving me crazy for years, please help! I think it was in black and white at least in some portions, and it wasn't asian, probably greek, russian or french. I wish I k...
Watched "Flashdance" this afternoon. I Haven't seen that movie since I was a kid. I loved that movie so much. Now, it's just stupid. I Can't believe I liked that movie. I mean your dream is going to ballet school in Pittsburgh? I love Pittsburgh for obvious reasons......but, really?
@steelerfan Felt like it was a 2.5 hour waste of my time. No real payoff, complete waste of a good villain who's shown to be a lot less clever than he's apparently been for three movies, and any new characters are never developed enough to really make you care for them. Pacing is off, story is weak, they brought Bond into a modern age in Skyfall then sent him straight back to where he came from three years later.
@MattD That's too bad. I Was looking forward to this movie. I will probably waste 2.5 hours of my time to still see it as I have seen every Bond movie. I'm Waiting a few weeks to see. Doesn't that just irritate you when you look forward to a movie and you leave feeling like it wasted your time?
@steelerfan From 2007 to 2011 I was a projectionist for my local theater, so free movies for me and a friend (with some restrictions) was a perk. Helped with marketing efforts for about year in 2014 and got them back for that time. My best friend is the GM for a theater out in Iowa now, and lots of people I knew at the location I worked for have moved on. Unless it's someone like a good friend I feel guilty asking to be signed in.
The woman rides on the horse and horse scares suddenly. Thus, it escapes and run when the woman is on it. Woman cannot control and stop it. A man sees her and follows her by riding on his horse. Then, take the woman from her horse to his horse. That movie can be from hollywood and it is at 2000s ...
As a child, probably somewhere around 1994, I remember seeing a movie on TV with an old Arabian setting. It included a man who was supposedly captured by a group of others who was forced to tell them his story.
This story was cut in a few episodes, all of which happened in Arabia, and some seeme...
@AnkitSharma Dude, where have you been? My shift is almost over and you haven't been in here at all. I had to resort to chatting in Mos Eisley and getting tormented.
Netflix australia has the first 52 episodes of the indian tv show bharat ka veer putra maharana pratap with english subtitles.
I'm trying to find somewhere I can watch or download some more episodes, but all I can find is youtube user SETIndia has uploaded all episodes without subtitles.

The people of TWD seems worry about basic things like food, water and shelter. However, I can't see the same concern about ammunition. I understand the show don't need to be realistic (it's fiction), but considering the world in which they live they should be more concerned about the ammunition (...
@steelerfan Not really mad. If anything when I write up little reviews about movies on Facebook I don't have to hold back in telling people not to see something. Couldn't really do that before since I was a theater employee who naturally wanted people to patronize the chain I worked for.
In National Treasure, Agent Sadusky reminds Ben that "someone's gotta go to prison". Ben asks him to reach Boston and arrest Ian and his gang. They are obviously guilty as well, but what does it have to do with Ben's own long prison sentence?
Do people really escape prison in US by helping the F...
It's now a common trope of the genre, whether it's getting kicked off the island or being told "You're fired!" but somebody had to have come up with this first. Who created the episode-ending elimination ceremony?
So I only remember seeing the trailer for this movie, it was fairly new, definitely in the 2000s most like 2010 or later.
In the trailer this family or friends is driving along a road when something happens. They stop for some reason, either their car breaks down or someone stops them I'm not s...
> It's worth noting the first person who was voted off Expedition Robinson (and consequently, the first contestant ever eliminated from a reality competition) took his own life a month later.
@Walt Oh really? I've always figured that there's a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff that never ends up on the tv show... Sometimes I think it would be interesting to have a Truman-show like setup where you see everything because so much of it is really deceptive otherwise.
... not that I want to watch someone sleep... or would ever watch such a show... but I think that there's so much more to what actually goes on in the actual events of filming that they don't show on TV.
@Catija There was a recent show called UnReal that tried to show the ugly stuff behind the scenes of such shows (specifically The Bachelor). The staff therapist was portrayed as a useless proxy. [Unfortunately, the show became all soapy and silly and this great potential was ruined. :(]
@Catija Big Brother is pretty much Truman-esque. I think they're filmed 24/7. Not that I ever watched it.
Yeah, that was what made something like the Truman show concept so important... the fact that the subject isn't aware of being on TV. If they know they're surrounded by cameras, their behavior changes.
I've only ever seen a couple of episodes of either show. The Amazing Race seems more interesting of a concept to me. I watch a lot of other competition shows, though... Specifically various cooking ones, America's Next Top Model... though mostly the older seasons... Project Runway...
@Catija Though I'm guessing most Big Brother contestants mugged for the camera since birth. People willing to go through this thing are already exhibitionists.
@Walt Oh. I've only seen one season. I thought it was odd that they only look at that specific day's performance for the final episode... most shows make an effort to take into account the full season with extra weight on the current task
@Walt Hm... clearly I've not watched enough of it to realize that. I did just watch the Bobby Flay "Worst Cooks in America" show... which was interesting... but I'm 99% sure that they had additional tutoring that isn't shown on the show.
Oh, and what I love about Cupcake Wars is that they make them make tons of cupcakes but at least some of them gets used... I hope the other thousand cupcakes from the losing bakery don't go to waste.
@AnkitSharma .... no, that's actually what the Cooking.SE chat is called.
@Walt Yeah... I saw one episode for a Girl Scouts event and one of the bakeries was specifically known for using booze in their cupcakes... and they got kicked off in the first round because they used beer in their first-round cupcake because they figured "Well, we're here because we make cupcakes with booze... certainly they wouldn't send us home for it"... I think that was an error on the part of the producers, though.
In season 2 episode 4 of Rick and Morty (Total Rickall), there is an alien parasite that disguises itself by implanting false memories in people's minds. The audience is led to believe that Mr Poopy-Butthole, who has never appeared in the show before, is also a parasite. This becomes more evident...
@MattD I was going to watch Star Trek 2 as a movie event in Mos Eisley. I got called into work. I will not be watching now. I have no other reason to watch that movie now.

I remember this one melody and I thought it was from Exodus Part 1 when the group was leaving from the beach. It may come up one other time throughout the series. I looked up the soundtrack for season 1 and listened to the songs for that episode but didn't hear it in the...
