@DrRDizzle Well, to each his own. Tarantino can be hit and miss to me and sometimes a bit too cool and random just for the sake of its own. But I liked his last two films and the fact that it's a Western again is definitely a reason to go.
@AnkitSharma What reason? If there's anything IMDb tells you in 1 second, it's how many friggin' films a director has made.
@NapoleonWilson I don't remember being overly fond of Jackie Brown (although I do need to rewatch it - it's been a long time), and I haven't yet seen Deathproof, but other than that I consider his filmography to be amongst the most consistently great of any director.
@NapoleonWilson Well there aren't many of his films that aren't considered either groundbreakingly original or a near-perfect version of what they are trying to do. That is worthy of hype.
@DrRDizzle I didn't say I can't understand the hype around his new film, I hype that, too, I'm looking forward to it very much. What I can't understand was the hype around Tarantino himself, primarily because, while being a very good director, I don't consider him the messiah of filmmaking.
@NapoleonWilson I can't think of many directors that have had more of an impact on American culture than Tarantino. Like him as a person or not, he's influential in ways that I don't think we will understand until he stops making films.

@NapoleonWilson I liked the opening and closing acts a lot, but good lord does it drag in the middle. It's a film that really should have been a short - great concept that isn't as well executed as it could have been because of the need to make it a feature length film.

@DrRDizzle Well, Batman doesn't like Superman and thinks he's dangerous, that much I know. I'd wager there are millions of ways to reconile that with Batman using Superman's supposed compassion against him and I'll judge if the particular way it was done in the movie makes sense once I know that way.
@NapoleonWilson You can't think someone is a threat to humanity while also relying on their compassion for humanity in order to beat them. It doesn't make sense.
@NapoleonWilson I'm actually hoping that it turns out that Superman ends up going after Batman, not the other way around. It makes more sense for Superman to fight against a vigilante who he severely under-estimates than the other way around.
Also, for the record, I'm really looking forward to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Don't believe everything like that. The media likes to over sensationalize everything. I hate cops, most are arrogant jerks, but the media takes a few cases out of the tens of thousands of cops and makes every cop look like a trigger happy racist.
In the US, if the media holds up an apple to the public and puts their spin on it, the average US viewer will think it's an orange after all is said and done.

So there's a new trailer for The Force Awakens that's designed for the Japanese market out now, but apparently it gives away more than the American trailer does. Debating if I want to watch it (I probably will).
Inside Out was really good. Very moving for an animation film, I cried quite a few times throughout. I can't really support that the middle part drags, it was a gripping and coherent story throughout the whole thing. Many nice and fitting neurological analogies.
