Q: What is Bond's first line in Spectre?

Mason WheelerAt the beginning of the new James Bond film, Spectre, we see Bond and an anonymous girl go into a hotel room. Right at it looks like they're about to begin a romantic interlude, he turns to go. She asks where he's going, and he says... something brief that I couldn't quite catch, and then he he...

Has anyone heard much about this "controversy" surrounding Tarantino and his statements about the police force in the USA?
@DrRDizzle i didn't
@AnkitSharma Just wondering, although being as you don't live in America (and sorry if I am wrong about that) I'm not surprised.
Yeah i get more of Indian paparazzi news then international but i know mostly major ones sooner or later or much later.
@AnkitSharma Well basically, do you know much about the various controversies around police brutality in America, particularly towards ethnic minorities?
10:55
@DrRDizzle no....i ignore political and police related international news
@DrRDizzle Well, who doesn't. Isn't that an issue in the US since, uh, I don't know, 200 years?
@AnkitSharma Well it's hot shit in the Western world, and Tarantino joined a protest about it. In response, one of the police unions has made threats against him, as well as asking people to boycott his latest film. Just because he wants the police to stop killing people.
@DrRDizzle why not try and protest and make his latest film superhit
@AnkitSharma Huh?
@DrRDizzle police said not to watch his film, give me enough encourage to watch it
11:03
@AnkitSharma It's Tarantino though, it's not like it wasn't going to be hugely popular anyway.
Yeah, it can be considered hit before even released
@AnkitSharma I haven't even watched any of the trailers for it. It's a Tarantino film, I'm 100% going.
@DrRDizzle i am not sure. But will watch it someday.
@AnkitSharma Tarantino was one of two directors that helped me become a film fan.

Q: Which are Tarantino’s eight films?

Steven PennyThe Hateful Eight is an upcoming film by Quentin Tarantino. I remember reading somewhere that the title is a reference to not only the characters in the film, but also to this being his eighth movie. Is this true and if so, what are the eight movies?

On the side note we have a question on that film.
With downvote :/ for no good reason
11:12
@AnkitSharma Well you can just look that up on Wikipedia. It's trivia.
@DrRDizzle ahhhh...no interest in bringing trivia discussion again now.
@AnkitSharma I haven't downvoted, for the record.
i have upvoted it

Q: Thriller/sci-fi movie identification

bendertoam looking for this thriller/sci-fi movie. The main plot is that passengers and crew of an airplane travel to the world that is "behind" time in real world by flying through portal in sky. Anyone that is not sleeping disappears. This world is at first empty, food is rotten, air is bad. Then some ...

11:41
@DrRDizzle Well, to each his own. Tarantino can be hit and miss to me and sometimes a bit too cool and random just for the sake of its own. But I liked his last two films and the fact that it's a Western again is definitely a reason to go.
@AnkitSharma What reason? If there's anything IMDb tells you in 1 second, it's how many friggin' films a director has made.
@NapoleonWilson I don't remember being overly fond of Jackie Brown (although I do need to rewatch it - it's been a long time), and I haven't yet seen Deathproof, but other than that I consider his filmography to be amongst the most consistently great of any director.
Yeah, most of his films are rather good, but I never understood that whole Tarantino hype.
@NapoleonWilson Well there aren't many of his films that aren't considered either groundbreakingly original or a near-perfect version of what they are trying to do. That is worthy of hype.
@DrRDizzle Well, the fact that many people consider them to be so doesn't mean I have to, too.
@NapoleonWilson Obviously. But you said you can't understand the hype, so I explained why people anticipate a new Tarantino release so highly.
11:47
@DrRDizzle I didn't say I can't understand the hype around his new film, I hype that, too, I'm looking forward to it very much. What I can't understand was the hype around Tarantino himself, primarily because, while being a very good director, I don't consider him the messiah of filmmaking.
@NapoleonWilson I can't think of many directors that have had more of an impact on American culture than Tarantino. Like him as a person or not, he's influential in ways that I don't think we will understand until he stops making films.
Well, I tend to like him as a person. I also agree that he might be quite influential, sure.

Q: Indentify a movie where a writer's son dies embarrassingly

Tornberrya writer's son dies embarrassingly and he makes profit out of it

But I'm looking forward to watching Inside Out this evening. I'm not the biggest animation enthusiast but there are a few things that I might even visit the cinema for and I've only heard good things about this one. I hope it can live up to the expectations of accurate and appealing emotional visualization/simulation.
What's worse than a 1-line ID question? Well, a 0.5-line ID question, I guess. ;-(
@NapoleonWilson I liked the opening and closing acts a lot, but good lord does it drag in the middle. It's a film that really should have been a short - great concept that isn't as well executed as it could have been because of the need to make it a feature length film.
@NapoleonWilson I wrote a spoiler-free review of Inside Out way back, if you want to read it before/after you've seen it.
14:48
@DrRDizzle I did, sounds interesting.
I also read your Spectre review and it sounds very promising and reasonable. (Though, it's actually over 50 years, not just 40.)
@NapoleonWilson My maths is not good. I'll make a correction when I can, thanks.
@DrRDizzle Oh, if you're actually taking those corrections seriously, I also spotted a "had" that should probably have been an "add" in the same text. ;-)
@DrRDizzle I primarily know it (apart from math) because they made a big fuss out of the 50th anniversay that coincided with Skyfall in 2012.
@NapoleonWilson Goddamn it. Thanks, I'll change that too.
15:11
Gramarazi in house :D
@AnkitSharma What's that supposed to be?
Just a pun on correction you suggested
@NapoleonWilson nothing to edit then :D
Mostly long written ID have too much to correct
Specially tags
@AnkitSharma Well, that was actually orthography/spelling, not really grammar. (But I'm glad you used some incomprehensible word construction and didn't downright call me a nazi.) ;-P

Q: Movie with two orphan boys

athenaI saw a movie about late 70s, when i was a child. It was about two orphans, a black and a white boy. @NapoleonWilson people get flagged for using that word or even using swastik (chat ban)
15:21
@AnkitSharma Well, fortunately in this chatroom we flag reasonably based on context.
@NapoleonWilson If you go to cmics.se chatroom or html room. Mostly everyone is flagged more then once or banned from 1 to 20 time
@NapoleonWilson Just you wait. The Mos Eisley curse will infect these waters soon enough.
@DrRDizzle ahhh...so you also have one suspension on your head
@DrRDizzle As long as our users go to Mos Eisley for chatting, I'd risk to wager it won't. ;-)
@AnkitSharma Yeah, I did a naughty word
15:24
(Though, I might not even have a problem with people getting flagged for equating throrough text corrections with nazis.)
How did that swastik pic from Richard was?
@DrRDizzle Well, it is, it's a sign of how that word has inappropriately drenched into an igornant internet culture, especially when used to describe actions that are not only trivial but actually positive. But well, to each his own.
Oh yeah, @AnkitSharma, go look in Agents of Nothing. Maybe you can answer my question.
Actually, you too @NapoleonWilson. As a fan of Man of Steel, I'm hoping you'll be able to explain it to me.
@DrRDizzle tired of discussing MCU and man of steel with u :P
@DrRDizzle I can't and I don't want to. Let alone that I don't want to reason about how a plot is supposed to work or not work that I know zero about yet. I'll do that once I've seen the movie.
15:32
@AnkitSharma This has nothing to do with the MCU.
> and man of steel
@NapoleonWilson You haven't read a synopsis yet?
@AnkitSharma It's not ever really about that. I just don't get Batman's logic.
@DrRDizzle Well, Batman doesn't like Superman and thinks he's dangerous, that much I know. I'd wager there are millions of ways to reconile that with Batman using Superman's supposed compassion against him and I'll judge if the particular way it was done in the movie makes sense once I know that way.
@NapoleonWilson You can't think someone is a threat to humanity while also relying on their compassion for humanity in order to beat them. It doesn't make sense.
@DrRDizzle I hear ya!
15:35
@DrRDizzle I will say after watching the film.
As said, I won't engage into reasoning about a story I know zero about.
@NapoleonWilson I'm actually hoping that it turns out that Superman ends up going after Batman, not the other way around. It makes more sense for Superman to fight against a vigilante who he severely under-estimates than the other way around.
Also, for the record, I'm really looking forward to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
@DrRDizzle Pff, sure, maybe.
@DrRDizzle We know, nobody claimed otherwise.
> Could Jesus microwave a burrito so hot that he himself could not eat it?
@NapoleonWilson What?
@AnkitSharma ?_?
15:52
Didn't got the point
@AnkitSharma What point? It's a reasonable question.
@NapoleonWilson Yes, but then he'd eat it anyway.
16:22
@NapoleonWilson I would always love to chat here. Most of you aren't in here when I am, but only for a few minutes. I do actually chat with Ankit during my overnight shifts at work. I always come in here before I go over to Mos Eisley when I have time. You guys are my homies ;)
And i don't even chat in Mos Eisley :D, just in agent if nothing
I go over there usually on the weekends bc of my hours, I will pop in occasionally during the week, but only for a few minutes.
Holy shit, i did watched a US police video of removing a girl from classroom
And raven's response
Don't believe everything like that. The media likes to over sensationalize everything. I hate cops, most are arrogant jerks, but the media takes a few cases out of the tens of thousands of cops and makes every cop look like a trigger happy racist.
@steelerfan yeah i know, India media is no good either
16:31
In the US, if the media holds up an apple to the public and puts their spin on it, the average US viewer will think it's an orange after all is said and done.
They make dumb out of their own self
@steelerfan And Indian media channel make it believe to be watermelon
@AnkitSharma Yeah, in a day and age where we are all taught to think for ourselves, very few actually do
16:53
@AnkitSharma I am assuming you have seen the trailer for Batman V Superman. So, is Superman supposed to be a bad guy? I saw it lastnight and was confused by it.
@steelerfan Its about people overreacting to him and his power
@AnkitSharma Oh, ok. Gotcha. I t looked to me like Superman was turning evil. Wasn't he evil in Superman III?
@steelerfan i didn't watched old superman film.
I mostly avoid old films
@AnkitSharma I remember watching them as a kid. I swear he was evil in one of them.
@steelerfan he do become evil at comics i think
An then he has some earth 3 or 4 evil version in comics
16:59
@AnkitSharma Gotcha.
He id become evil in comics too
I even asked a question about his evil version costume few days back

Ankit SharmaIn Batman Beyond S03E06/07, Superman appears in a very different version of his costume and looks a bit older, as shown below: But it was never made clear why he is wearing such a different costume without even the "S" and it was not even mentioned in the DCAU before as per my knowledge. Q: What is number chart on sniper rifle?

JigarGandhiI was watching the movie "American Sniper", In the first 30 minutes scene ,when Chris Kyle is observing the Afghan woman and child carrying Russian Grenade. There is a number chart pasted on his rifle, What is it for?

I am actually surprised Dr D ist over there in the "can superheroes get drunk" discussion.
@steelerfan without criticising any superhero superman on fundamental level :O
17:17
@AnkitSharma Ha! :)
I don't mind healthy discussion till they bet boring or offensive
I have only been offended once on SE, it was in another chat room, but followed me over here. It really takes a lot to offend me, and it did. What was said in here was nothing compared to what was said in another room.
Yeah, i have heard that from you.
And he did created bit mess here too
Pretty sure he was banned over there. Haven't seen him over there since. Glad it's done and over.

Q: What is the significance of the cat in the movie "Gone Girl"

IanThroughout the movie "Gone Girl", there is an orange house cat that appears in numerous scenes. Is this some kind of symbolism? Thanks

23:52
Inside Out was really good. Very moving for an animation film, I cried quite a few times throughout. I can't really support that the middle part drags, it was a gripping and coherent story throughout the whole thing. Many nice and fitting neurological analogies.
