@AndrewMartin He's literally said, though I believe he was quoting someone else who said it, that he could walk out, shoot someone dead on 5th Avenue in New York and still not see a drop in his numbers.

He told security at one of his rallys to confiscate the coats of hecklers they were throwing out. Doubt that actually happened, but it's still one of those things that's like, why would you say that?

Regarding the "must have been on her period" comment, the next debate that involved the woman he was referring to if I'm not mistaken, he skipped out on.

But yeah, freedom of speech is something I'm in full support of. You should have the freedom to say what you want, but that doesn't preclude you from facing punishment from the citizenry at large for what you've said.

It's like when people got pissed at A&E, a cable TV channel here in the US, for demanding a key family member for the TV show Duck Dynasty be removed because of comments he'd made about homosexuals.

Sorry, had a phone call. Anyway, with my Duck Dynasty thing, people were pissed off at A&E for removing the guy from the show and threatening to cancel it completely, saying A&E was violating the guy's right to freedom of speech.

Thing is? They weren't. He's free to say whatever the hell he wants, but the right to free speech simply means the government can't imprison you and whatnot for saying what you want.

A&E is TV channel, and if they feel comments such as his could affect how people view their channel, they have every right to ask for his removal, or to cancel the show outright.

That's why Glenn Beck no longer has a show on Fox News. He just grew to be so crazy that advertisers were pulling out left and right so Fox had to can him to turn the tide as it were.

@AnkitSharma The main thing about this group in particular is virtually everyone in the US hates them. Even the KKK condemns them.

Actually got into a spat with some family members some months back over suggesting they and others should just stop talking about them.

They were talking about them protesting the funerals of men and women who've died while serving in the military, that they should be barred from protesting at funerals and whatnot.

Told them it's best to just ignore them because they just want attention, even if they 100% believe what they're saying. They're a small, fringe group that virtually no one but them actually likes, so simply ignoring them is the best course of action.

Several WBC members have law degrees, and the Southern Poverty Law Center studied their actions and found they basically look for people to physically retaliate against them at these things, or for their protests to be denied, so they can then sue and gain money.

@AnkitSharma I am, so long as they don't cause harm or destroy anything. It reminds us of why the freedom to say what we want is something we need to uphold, even when some people take it way too far. We need to remain vigilant and try to move them further to the side rather than imprison them or ban them.

Virtually no one here likes the WBC, and no one seeks to help them. I honestly feel if we were to simply stop reporting on them, paying attention to them when they protest, you know, just ignore them completely, they'll eventually fade away.
