Yes, what DTest said. Once you have a second space you can Ctrl + Right-arrow to get to it. Then you can click on any dock icon and say Options > Assign To > This Desktop (or from any other desktop, assign to > desktop name)

I have a complex app that solves problems of multilateral compensation , so i have up to 60 queries run - depending of the level of how deep the queries go for the level of 5 the query is like this :

essentially what's going on here is a developer has sprocs that update this table. We then need to find which objects have been updated and add them to groups that are in the same table. It's obnoxious.
What I think I'm going to do is just add a updated flag to the table and set it to true in his update statements and then set them all back to false in once the group update has finished.
@DTest I'm hoping they come out with 27" retinas with thunderbolt support. Then I'll replace these two. I don't suspect they'll make 30" again, just like they kicked 17" MBPs to the curb.
I'm saving up for an actual mac pro (the next gen whenever that comes out)...so I'll probably ditch the personal PC and bootcamp it and it won't be an issue
And when they come out with a Mac Pro that has Thunderbolt etc., I still wouldn't want to push MBP work to those displays, because the whole point of the MBP is to work away from my desk. :-)
Meh, I like being able to toggle between both modes. I just don't want to ever walk away from my work. I hate the logical disconnect of having to sync everything up. So much easier to carry the entire environment with me.
@jcolebrand what "work" actually has to move with you? I do all my Windows / SQL work in Windows VMs. They are stored on external drives. So if I really need to, I can shut down the VM, disconnect the drive and take it with me.
@jcolebrand If you're using SSDs, this really shouldn't be a productivity killer. If you're still using spinny disks, and this is your productivity killer, then FFS, get SSDs.

@Zane you should mention that you would check for the spid in a different window. If you run the query against dm_exec_requests using the same spid, you're obviously going to get a different result (e.g. the result will report on the query against sys.dm_exec_requests). :-)

@swasheck Take a conference center. Put ~6000 SQL folks from around the world. Flavor with presentations purely about SQL Server that are not put on by vendors.
I would argue that aside from sessions by Paul White, Bob Ward, Dr. DeWitt, etc., there is much more value in the interactions than the sessions. But if you want deep technical info and not marketing-y stuff, yes, it's the place to go.
I'd agree with @AaronBertrand, though there's plenty of good sessions regardless of your level. A lot of people like to do the high level stuff because it's not common, but there's a lot of lower lever stuff that is very useful.
The problem with some of the higher level stuff is you typically won't use it. I saw Adam Machanic's session this year, which was awesome and blew my mind, but it didn't give me anything practical I could take and use at my job other than a better understanding of the engine.
@swasheck mostly the former. But there are a lot of events that aren't formal sessions, e.g. a birds-of-a-feather session (over lunch), where experts host tables dedicated to all kinds of topics. Roam about and ask questions at whatever table(s) suit your interests.

@Zane right, my point is if he runs the procedure in Management Studio, then in the same query window queries against sys.dm_exec_requests, the information he gets back from that query is going to be for the query against sys.dm_exec_requests. So he should be checking that from a different connection.
@Zane yes, that is likely due to parameter sniffing and/or different SET settings.
@AaronBertrand I got your point I just noticed the answer after mine was looking for query plan by database_id = db_id() and object_id = object_id('dbo.uspNameOfProc');

@Phil I would not trust the Mac version VirtualBox for Windows VMs. I liked the higher RAM support at the time (Fusion & Parallels used to be limited to 8GB), but had constant crashing and gave up after several weeks of head-desk thumping.
