@Vérace-getVACCINATEDNOW what was the bet again?
I see the source is on github: Babelfish PostgreSQL engine source code
and all you need for Compiling Babelfish from source

@ypercubeᵀᴹ Very interesting indeed. I wonder have Google provided any funding to the PostgreSQL Global Development Group - and also, have Amazon with their Babelfish project? The latter is still in "coming soon" mode - and I'm willing to bet (gentelmen's) that it will not appear by the end of the year!
We all can see what you did there, mistyping gentlemen so we can't find it easily ;)

A chairde - Morning all!
@ypercubeᵀᴹ Indeed - I always deliberately mistype so that my contributions aren't searchable!
The bet was a "gentelmen's" bet - just for the honour! No bottles of Middleton were mentioned! :-)

How can I change the state of a DB from restoring to online if I cannot restore de logs?
I've restored a ola halengren full backup in another machine but it remains in Restoring state.
restore database xx with recovery doesn't work

@McNets why
@HannahVernon I need to recover a single table, I've used a full backup on another computer with an external disk attached. Theoretically restore command has properly ended, but the db keeps the Restoring state. I started again, and it takes more than 7 h.
Another option, I could recover MDF/LDF files from our daily veam backups, but using external hard disk is a pain in the ass. Or acquire some 3rd party tool to extract the table directly from .bak. It seems some maintenance job in our ERP went wrong last weekend.
12:40
@McNets Sorry, I meant what error are you seeing?
Just joined the SalesForce SE site. This is probably the worst day of my life! Haha

@HannahVernon log file seem corrupted, and I can't replace it by a new one.
Like the server shut down with a pending transaction. But the computer has been on, all night long
13:36
@McNets are you seeing an actual SQL Server error message when you try RESTORE DATABASE [xyz] WITH RECOVERY?
@Philᵀᴹ ouch
@HannahVernon I'm sorry. I deleted it and started a new restore
@McNets ahhh no worries - let us know if it fails again 🙂

@HannahVernon 👍 thanks
