I love how I can get the stuff I want I want in higher level languages, that I'm used to. And I love having an ecosystem that I'm used to in higher level languages in a lower level language. It's nice to be able to write algebraic types, and traits, and to have something like npm/cpan/pip for C.
What are they gonna do, steal our pipe? Wait, what, they can do the equivalent by shutting down the flow or overriding safety controls and bursting pipes? WHY DIDN'T YOU PENCILNECKED GEEKS TELL ME?

it's fine if it is. perfectly legitimate. i just didnt know if you found a unique implementation experience. i dont write much system-level stuff so i never really thought it to be an appropriate aim for myself
@swasheck yes, certainly I can do all of this in C. However, it's certainly a better experience to use Rust, it's more efficient, and the code is less vulnerable to human error.

very cool. i almost literally flipped a coin to decide between trying to learn rust and trying to learn go. the deciding factor was actually the system implementation focus. i decided i wasnt quite to that level yet.

Yours is a good way. I usually use one line for each column. It can get really long but I find it more readable. Something like this:
