This seems completely unrelated to the question. — ypercubeᵀᴹ 2 mins ago

morning

@McNets Did you code an EVENT to post "morning" every morning? ;)

A: Create a trigger annually in mysql

0xFFFFFFThat may what you are looking for: CREATE EVENT myevent ON SCHEDULE EVERY 1 year DO call dd where dd is a PROCEDURE written in it a code to create a trigger...

Only kidding. Which question did you want the events for?

@McNets in my university assignment question have "Create e trigger annually and updates profit." — Jayani Sumudini 17 hours ago
it seems homework
@ypercubeᵀᴹ do you like pizza?

ha ha this guy should hire a dba
@ypercubeᵀᴹ please have a look at this edit, he has removed mysql tag but OP question references mysql docs.
forget it, sorry
he added mysql tag
I need more coffee...

Yeah, I was looking to this a few minutes ago. And thinking whether to leave or roll back the edit.
There shouldn't be a mysql tag there, in my opinion.

Yes

Curious, VtC raises a helpful flag too.

They all look so similar

Is there a way to filter all questions but favorite tags instead to add each ignored tag?

1:24 PM
Your python program uses shelve to store the data on disk (and shelve uses pickle format). I vote to migrate this to SO - although it is a too broad question. I think your best chance is to ask in the Python room how to read the shelved/pickled data and convert them to any other fromat you want. — ypercubeᵀᴹ 2 mins ago
@McNets I'm not sure I follow. Do you want to see all the questions you have been ignoring?
maybe this is relevant

Q: How do I search for questions with (or without) specific tags?

jjnguyHow do I search for questions with specific tags? How do I search for questions that have specific tags? How do I search for questions that contain specific text, as well as specific tags? Are there any more powerful search options? For more information about searching, see "How do I searc...

1:40 PM
@ypercubeᵀᴹ I only want to see questions about my favorite tags

Put all the tags with OR: [postgresql] or [database-design] or [sql] or [sql-server] or [oracle] or ...
in the search box
or edit the url
https://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/postgresql+or+database-design+or‌+sql+or+sql-server+or+oracle+or+query-performance

I'm not searching, when you add/edit favorite tags, you can set ignored tags too, then questions about this 'ignored tags' become hidden, but I must add one by one each undesired tag in 'ignored tags' list. I'm trying to limit visible questions on SO

@McNets that's your problem. You're working in SO ;)

@PaulWhite yes, but now I see questions about 2014
@ypercubeᵀᴹ I'm taking advantage that Linoff is sleeping ;)

1:55 PM
@McNets Why is that unexpected?

I suppose that's an indication he isn't a bot. Unless bots sleep.

@PaulWhite I'd like to see the 'newest'

AH well you'll have to wit 6-8 weeks* for the new navigation to be fully implemented then.
* may be 6-8 years

@McNets click on "newest" then?

@ypercubeᵀᴹ catch-22 then I have unanswered but not my tags
BTW, He's awake

2:00 PM
@McNets Or try:

A: Tab for questions that are labeled with favorite tags

KeatsPeeksYou can build a bookmarlet using 'or'. Here is an example which shows the questions tagged 'C' along with the questions tagged 'C++': http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/'c'%20or%20'c++' I'm using such custom links heavily, located in my SO bookmarks folder. I think there's no limit to ...

@PaulWhite nice, thanks

Hi @ypercubeᵀᴹ, good point. I wasn't sure which forum was more appropriate. Please have the post moved (or tell me how to do so). Thanks. — William Lombard 12 mins ago
Lets send it to SO, what do you think?

@PaulWhite Is there a way to classify my own answers with tags? I mean, sometimes question's caption has nothing to see with the answer, (Ex. How can I get this result?) and in fact is a PIVOT solution. Is there a way to flag this answer with my own tags? Sometimes is difficult to find an old answer if I need to reuse the code.

2:16 PM
No.

ok thanks

@ypercubeᵀᴹ There are no answers, he can just delete and reask?

The link you have provided shows how to upgrade. Just scroll down till UpgradingMcNets 27 secs ago
Ppl should read more

4:03 PM
@McNets I don't think they want to upgrade existing columns. In which case, they should have read just the first 2 paragraphs ...

@ypercubeᵀᴹ Do you mean add a new one only?

@McNets yes. They got the error because they didn't specify the type of the column
... which the link they provided shows how to do, right in the beginning

yes

It looks like you query is exacly the sam as mine and it returns the same error. — Shawn Ives 2 mins ago

5:46 PM
@McNets it's not derived, if it's in the SELECT list, it's usually called scalar subquery

ok

sorry, I think the term is scalar. Not sure but certainly not derived

you're right
"A scalar subquery expression is a subquery that returns exactly one column value from one row. "

And looking around the web, remembered that in Oracle, they often call derived tables "inline views".

6:09 PM
@ypercubeᵀᴹ how can I update the table? dbfiddle.uk/…

scalar: subquery with 1 column. If it returns
2+ rows: raise error
1 row: return result
0 rows: return NULL
@McNets I would say use JOIN but I don't think that would work in this case.

I've tried, it doesn't work
or I can't get it

Oh sorry, it might. Thoiught you were updating the value column.

I need the poor man cross apply, I think

6:24 PM
@McNets indeed!
or just use variables ... ;)

@ypercubeᵀᴹ thank you !

The UPDATE works assuming that (sitename, dt) is UNIQUE.

@ypercubeᵀᴹ ok

I'm not sure if there is a way (besdies variables) to get the update without specifying the table 4 times!
I guess with a temp table, there is.

MySql is a bit weird.

6:30 PM
more like a million bits weird

ha ha
@PaulWhite I need to allow LocalSystem to access a network share, I've tried by adding server name but it doesn't works.
I know that sql server service should be configured using an specific user, but it is an old server.

7:09 PM
howz my @McNets doin, yo yo.

7:34 PM
@EvanCarroll hi Evan, a really bored sunday

8:11 PM
@McNets LocalSystem can only access the local system

@PaulWhite ok thanks

@Mike I suspect you had a split brain when moving from 01 to 02, caused by not stopping 01 properly before promoting 02. — dezso 4 mins ago
@dezso I thought he might have dome something like that. I guess trying to do the restore with WAL files having come from both servers (after the split) would produce this error?

@ypercubeᵀᴹ never tried to create a slave from a split brain cluster, but sounds like that - maybe when looking for WAL in the archive, not sure.

or perhaps he got the backup from one server (01 after 02 become mester) and WAL from the other (02)
I've never seen such thing happen, so I have no idea.
I felt like one-eyed man helping the blind, commenting in this q

9:42 PM
Oh, so "split brain" is technical jargon... I thought @dezso was being a little rude there.

10:14 PM
As if.

@AndriyM another politically incorrect term ...
