Looks like a proper answer to me, since the other user only commented, without providing an answer - answer. But - @epardee - I'd prefer if you had included the actual code you used. — ypercubeᵀᴹ 3 mins ago
call me Paul ;)

@SeanGallardy-Microsoft ASCII always refers to the 7 bit, afaik. Unless someone is making a flub. Yea, he could be referring to cp1252, but that would be an larger assumption than him wanting to know how to convert an hex encoded ascii character, to the character.
then again, if he was referring to cp1252 that would explain a lot. Only microsoft users use that, and they struggle to understand specs/standards, and why they're never compliant. =)

@hot2use Most likely yes

5:18 AM
@Zane It was system protection settings when that happened to me. For some reason it had set itself to something like 50% of the drive maximum usage.

@PaulWhite needs to move to houston

Too cold and they call jandals "flip flops"

We have rednecks, Jesus, scorching hot sun, and flip flops

heh

Everyone is welcome to live in my city. Extra points if you do so without the government's permission.
I'm cool with it. And, it pisses off the Trump.

Good to know there's the option, should I ever need sanctuary

Hi @sp_BlitzErik. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend your talk today.
Perhaps at the next SQLbits
@JamesL @MartinSmith might be there, too. And @sp_BlitzErik of course ;)

Q: How do I place leading zeros for numbers less than 10 without affecting those 10+?

SnagQueensHubbyProbably a newb question, but... I have a table with a VARCHAR field containing numbers 1 through 300. I need to place a leading zero in front of any numbers less than 10 while retaining the original number if it is 10 or greater (i.e. 1=01, 10=10 and 300=300). SELECT DISTINCT RIGHT('0'+CONVERT...

10 answers that question has ...

@ypercubeᵀᴹ for numbers about above and below 10
it's magic.

@ypercubeᵀᴹ and enough crap ones that Community has auto-protected it.

@PaulWhite hadn't noticed that. Happened around the same time you deleted one of the answers.

Yes that was the trigger.

@ypercubeᵀᴹ are you at the conference at all?

3:38 PM
If he is, I expect a selfie

3:49 PM

@sp_BlitzErik no, I couldn't make it
@McNets the guy on the front right looks a bit like @JackDouglas, if he had time traveled from 15 years ago;)

@ypercubeᵀᴹ yes!!

for comparison:

@ypercubeᵀᴹ he's too well dressed to be me at any point in my life ;)

@JamesL I'm here and @MartinSmith is also about

You found his doppleganger!

Q: How would people in the 17th century react to modern day clothing

BryanSo I and two others are working on a time machine, and I accidentally press a wrong button and whoosh, all my friends and I are in 17th century Salem, Massachusetts. Nobody sees us appearing out of thin air, so we aren’t burned to death on sight. But we are all wearing modern day clothes as we ...

@ypercubeᵀᴹ I'm surprised you'd link that... LOOK AT ALL OF THOSE COMMENT ANSWERS

Shocking

No, no, I'm keeping comment answers around for @PaulWhite Easter day.

What's with all the basic pizza restaurant query questions recently.

@PaulWhite ah I see it;'s a different user today
Has the previous one, that posted 5 pizza questions, gathered a question ban?
(replace 5 with 7)

From China now

He got Peer Pressure at SO 2 days ago:
(for those that have rep at SO to see deleted questions)

Not me

@ypercubeᵀᴹ Nope
Perhaps someone has opened a SQL pizza place

5:13 PM
@ypercubeᵀᴹ can a mysql trigger be fired periodically?

Another at SO:

Q: Sum up any pair of pizza that are in the same restaurant in SQL

MasonConditions: Budget of $40 Buy 2 distinct pizza from the same restaurant Expected Results: List of restaurants that fulfill the above conditions Database schema: Customers(cname, area), Restaurants(rname, area), Pizzas(pizza), Sells(rname,pizza,price), Likes(cname, pizza) Sells table | rnam...

@McNets you want EVENT, not trigger

@ypercubeᵀᴹ ok

6:10 PM
@ypercubeᵀᴹ I will vote to close any question that mentions golf or pineapple on pizza.
I'm more willing to accept a world ruled by inferior proprietary databases. One must draw the line somewhere.
Time to hit the books.
Assembly pushes me closer to all of @SeanGallardy-Microsoft's secrets.

@EvanCarroll unless it has bacon as well!

@PaulWhite they should be replaced by sandwich questions. Foot long if possible

All in good time.

I'm trying to find a way to ask a question involving baguettes, trace flags and columnstore

7:33 PM
@ypercubeᵀᴹ Texas is the land of bacon, and it's seriously the one of the few things I don't like about this state. Oh, and Jesus and racists.

and pineapple pizza

that's a problem for the world.

Terrible Plan Topography

Table per type or something like that iirc
Get with entity framework yall

Thnx
Although I still don't get what "The database is strongly TPT" means exactly.

@ypercubeᵀᴹ unclear to me hence vtc

Perhaps it means he didn't mess with the DB schema manually much

7:58 PM
@TomV I must admit, the VIEW code is nicely formatted. I trust you about the plan ;)

If he uses EF

@ypercubeᵀᴹ I'm not talking about the plan. The context of the question is unclear to me
And the procedure or view is something I don't fancy reading on a Saturday to figure out if it makes sense
I don't intend to go anywhere near the plan

@TomV Oh sorry. That ("I trust you about the plan") was supposed to address Paul and his Terrible Plan Topography comment!

The plan the op posted would probably resemble the winter Olympics super g slalom

@TomV yeah, it looks like that. I used Ctrl+ - several times, then scroll fast up and down the page. Giant slalom indeed!

8:21 PM
@ypercubeᵀᴹ brave man
