Europe is a weird one. Italy has a massive death toll and Feance, Spain UK etc are going the same way but Germany has probably the worlds lowest death rate.
That said comparing countries is tough since testing regimes differ. For instance the UK only tests people in hospital so more minor cases don't show up in the figures and the death rate ends up being inflated.

Culture also plays a large part behind the spread of the disease. Italy, for instance, apparently has a lot more interaction between generations then other European countries.

Italy also has a large population of elderly smokers, which probably also contributes to the extreme death rates we're getting there.

@Shalvenay One thing I've heard is that we do have one example of a pretty controlled environment where everyone was tested, which was the princess cruise line ship. The way cruise ships are, you gotta imagine that pretty much everyone aboard had some exposure to the virus, especially with that long of an incubation period letting people walk around spreading it everywhere.

So of the passengers, 20% came down with it. Of those, the death rate ended up being around 0.5%. Now, they also all had good medical care, which helped a lot, and they couldn't get overwhelmed, which I think may be a big problem with a lot of the EU cases. Not having enough equipment, medicine, etc is a big problem.
So back in September when Trump told US medical companies to move their stuff out of China and back to the US, maybe they should have listened...
Considering China was seizing equipment manufactured by US companies and using it in China, not allowing it to be shipped over here...

@AndyD273 yeah the cruise ship was as close to a controlled example as we get

Q: What, visually, would a bored hole in the moon look like?

Joe BernsteinIf you took a giant drill (~one hundred meter circumference) and bored down two kilometers into the moon, what would it look like (assuming the lighting was good)? Is there a gradient, or is it a uniform type of rock? Assume the viewer is inside of the hole, at some point in the middle, floating...

^ I was very tempted to answer just "Yawning".
