I think the conversation on AOC craziness is over, but I wanted to add that when Ben Shapiro invited her to a debate and offered to donate $10,000 to a charity of her choice, she turned him down (which is entirely her prerogative), and then somehow decided that a request to debate is sexist catcalling. Because the married Orthodox Jew inviting someone to have a cordial conversation or debate about economics and politics is now sexist. twitter.com/AOC/status/1027729430137827328

Hi Gryphon, what you said I'm pretty sure is English, but apart from that I have no idea what your post is actually saying...
(I suspect I'm missing some context. Actually, I suspect I'm missing a LOT of context)

@TimBII Essentially, the US politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) was invited to a debate by Ben Shapiro, an American media personality, who also offered to donate $10,000 to a charity of her choice if she agreed. She turned him down, which is fine, but then decided that his invitation was catcalling and sexist. Which makes no sense.
We were having a discussion on how many ridiculous things she's done earlier in the chat.
Sorry if my original comment was confusing.

3:55 AM
Might I suggest that we maybe step aside from the politics for a bit? Not that I have anything else particularly interesting to discuss, of course. . .

@HDE226868 Sure thing. My bad.

Cool. That makes sense now.
As for other interesting things, I'm new to the factory floor, thought I'd check in a bit as I've been finding the whole answer writing thing a bit of a grind of late and I was genuinely curious about what happens here.
Already I'm seeing a more diverse range of topics. :)

5:07 AM
@Gryphon No worries.
@TimBII Basically everything, honestly. Inane chatter, policy discussion, bad puns, and anything else you can think of.

Q: Sandbox clones for other SE sites

MuzeCan Wordbuilding host other SE sites sandboxes to help users to build good question in that site? I tried the idea of a Sandbox.SE on Area 51 and was not well-received. https://area51.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/28019/sandbox-for-all I wander can traffic be increased to Worldbuilding.SE if...

@TimBII new and interesting plans for how to destroy the world. Revelry in otherness. As HDE said, the list of topics is long.

2:30 PM
@HDE226868 I think inane chatter covers about 93%
@Green You forgot eldritch abominations.

2:42 PM
@James Want to give me error bars on that one? :P

@HDE226868 +/- 7%

@James Touche.
. . . I think. Not sure how to use that one properly.

3:02 PM
Oh, while I have everyone's attention . . .
Do people remember this?

Q: Do we (still) want a site Twitter account?

HDE 226868The other day, another moderator and I were tossing around the idea of having an unofficial site Twitter account. Stack Exchange stopped making them a few years ago for various reasons, but we could still have an independent, community-run account, which would tweet out particularly interesting q...

That was two and a half years ago, and people seemed reasonably in favor of the idea.

@HDE226868 Huh? I wasn't paying attention.
@HDE226868 I support the idea but don't really have the bandwidth to support managing it right now.

Talking about bad puns:

@Hosch250 I don't get it?
Also, it's hard to read

Excuse me, Madam... May I ask if you love that baby inside your stomach?
Why, of course I love him. I love him very much.
Then why did you eat him?
WHAT??
Just a little humor...
GOOD HEAVENS, WHO WOULD HAVE TAUGHT YOU SUCH A DISGUSTING THING TO SAY?
Meet my grandfather, the ca*d. (I can't make out that last letter.)

Card, I think. But that doesn't seem to make much sense. . .

3:13 PM
@AndyD273 Needs more JPEG.

Yeah, that's what I got too, but I don't get the joke. If there is a joke.

It's a pun about babies being in their mom's tummy.

@Hosch250 Is it a pun, though? Doesn't even seem like wordplay to me.

It's an implied pun, I guess.

My take is that "haha, grandchildren saying bad things because of their grandpa!"

I think it's meant for grandparent readers.

3:16 PM
See, kids don't typically get corrected when they refer to babies as being in the stomach.

That makes more sense than anything else. I'm just not old enough to understand it

But this kid actually means it literally.
So, she's just going with it assuming he means "womb".
But he literally means "stomach".

I don't think that counts as a pun

Whatever, I still find it funny :D
Card: a usually clownishly amusing person
Looks right.
I thought "card" at first too, but it didn't match the R's in grandfather well.

@Gryphon could be a way to reduce the amount of fuel needed. Or to keep LEO satellites up longer, when drag would bring them down faster than desired.
Reminds me of the Ramjet used in the Niven universe, which gathers interstellar hydrogen from a very wide cone, then compresses and fuses it out the back, IIRC.

hey there @James and @Mithrandir24601
