@James You were right the first time. It's Gaia -- at least, that's the usual anglicization of the Earth Goddess' name.

ANyone got a good idea how to tell a user to not be a dick without writing dick?
I don't want to get profanity flags
sweet
May I ask which comment conversation you were referring to?
@Secespitus good ol' Raditz
But I guess with our growing size this thing will just get worse as well :/
@dot_Sp0T He seems to like getting into comment fights.
12:39
@Secespitus yeah. The problem is that I am not averse to fighting - I enjoy a good verbal sparring way too much
That's why I'm frequenting this chat so much ;)
@dot_Sp0T Understandable. But in his case I feel like I've seen conversations derail pretty fast.
A good verbal sparring would be when both parties are trying to "provoke" the other one to give better argumentsto enrich a question or answer with each "round".
@Secespitus back in the days where I was mod on some forums I would've already banned him for good I guess
Because it's not about the content of their comments but about their intention
@dot_Sp0T I don't know. He often asks for clarification and seems to get into comment fights easier then others, but I don't feel like he is actively harming the community.
Though that comment you linked is pretty borderline...
13:04
@Secespitus yeah it's pretty much the reactions he gives to clarification that is written in a similar tone to his requests :/

@DaaaahWhoosh I'm not positive about it.

@HDE226868 remember that Three Genders thing I did a while ago? I'm trying it again only using System Dynamics instead of Agent-based simulation. Should be able to model huge populations with the SD approach. Gonna be fun!

can anybody show me any benefit for this edit? worldbuilding.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/35877
@dot_Sp0T I guess by having it on the stack exchange image server, the user can't delete it from imgur and break the question/answer
17:26
@AndyD273 that might be, but why didnt the editor add a note to the edit stating such fact? As of now it just seems to be rehosting without any reason :/
17:47
@dot_Sp0T It's right at the top: Comment: Edited image link to prevent link-rot; moved it to Stack's image domain instead.
18:37
@AndyD273 very interesting, I didn't see that reason for some reason
18:48
@dot_Sp0T It is a lot less obvious on the review page.
Huh, did you know there is an ISO standard for making tea? iso.org/standard/8250.html
19:07
@AndyD273 And they want $38 USD? That's insane.
$38 to know the official way to make tea. Dang.
@Green Spoiler, apparently it's two grams of tea per 100 mL of water. But if you want to make sure that your doing it right... :)
@AndyD273 Does this mean that if I make tea that way that I can call myself ISO Certified?
Because that would be super duper funny!
@Green Your tea cup at least...

@HDE226868 I guess more generally, would questions of the type "are there any creation myths that involve X?" be on-topic there? Or, if not, is there a way to improve it?
@DaaaahWhoosh Maybe worldbuilding-resource? "Where can I find myths, legends and fiction that already incorporated a similar concept?"
@Secespitus ah, but you see, I'm asking about Mythology Stack Exchange
(which might be the answer to such a Worldbuilding question)
@DaaaahWhoosh Oops :D
anyway, on a completely different subject, geese:

these are the ones I was talking about the other day, I forgot I'd taken pictures
Jun 21 at 16:17, by DaaaahWhoosh
the other day I was walking to my car and I saw about thirty of them waddling single-file across the parking lot. I just thought to myself "it must be to hide their numbers" and then I got the hell out of there.
20:37
@Green Ooh, interesting. Let me know how that goes.
@DaaaahWhoosh Yes, that would be on-topic.
@HDE226868 I'm currently working out how to allocate the annual pregnancies budget between the bisexual couples and the heterosexual couples.
20:54
Interesting.
21:14
@Green ...did I just have a stroke...or did I read what I think I just read?
@James , @James, this is me we're talking about. You didn't have a stroke. That's what you actually ready.

lol I just tried to print a property value from this Java object, I had to do getProperty().getValue().getString()
I got so used to simple Javascript, I forgot how complex some of these libraries can get
21:58
@James I'll let you know what I come up with.
