I don't like it when I comment about a related question and the OP thinks I'm saying theirs is a duplicate
I just like to make sure everyone knows about the great questions and answers we've had in the past
Morning peoples
morning
So what've I missed the last two days?
I'm assuming nothing.
So far as I can tell things stay frozen in space-time when I am not present...like a save on a video game.
unpause
I think we tried to define slavery
and I made a pun about rat sex
There you go with sex and slavery again...
14:22
damnit, yeah, how does that keep happening?
you're a freak...and I mean that in the best possible way.
Random question, would it be inappropriate to suggest that the podcast was brought to you by Soylent Green
might be... in poor taste
we did discuss ritual canniabalism
14:39
no, it is a good idea. I just wanted to go for another pun
I've been trying to make them a lot more often recently
SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE
Also, hi everyone
@James so you already made another one?
15:00
Im working on the very belated blog post
Well as it's in written form you might need to check if Soylent Green is public domain yet or still a brandname
15:26
@James We could do what Prairie Home Companion does by inventing a number of completely ridiculous brands to sponsor the show.
Perhaps an ad from Magrathean World Yards?
@Green witty, but not ridiculous
@Green What about Aunty Molly's Left Hand Spoons - For The Few Of You?
It doesn't have to be completely fictional companies either. We could cross post for the ScienceFiction.SE or Fantasy.SEs
@dot_Sp0T Maybe? I don't know who Aunt Molly is.
@Green Science fiction and fantasy is just one stack exchange.
@Bellerophon I don't go there. Thanks for the clarification.
Ah, that's why it's SFF.SE. Got it.
In a perfect world they'd be two separate network sites that organize bloody fights between them every forthnight

@dot_Sp0T Fantasy would win.
Howdy, what are we talking about?
16:07
@TrEs-2b Fictional companies.
That and the fantasy SE throwing fireballs at the SFF SE
16:29
Cool beans
I don't usually ask for upvotes, but could one of you upvote this (I am 1 away from another gold) worldbuilding.stackexchange.com/questions/58035/…
@TrEs-2b Done.
Thanks

Dr Strange looks so freaking good...
@James Same.
@dot_Sp0T Did you know Soylent is an actual product you can buy? Supposed to be an on the go meal replacement.
@James Good. I was hoping so
19:17
@AndyD273 I bought some of the early versions and ended up throwing them away because I couldn't bring myself to eat them. Remember the goop from The Matrix where Tanks says "Everything the body needs". Soylent is like that, only a slurry instead of goop.
Yeah, I haven't tried it, probably won't for the foreseeable future. My comment was in relation to the discussion about using Soylent Green as a joke sponsor, and that may cause confusion since there is a company with that name.
@AndyD273 I'm not sure why the Soylent Manufacturer decided to call it Soylent given the extremely close proximity to Soylent Green. If I were a trademark lawyer, I'd advise them to pick a different name. It's just too close.
Well, I kinda doubt that the twilight zone had it trademarked? And the name got them a lot of buzz solely because it's so close to that.
I'm sure they relish every soylent green joke simply because that means people are talking about them, instead of referring to them as the company that makes the horrible goop that I can't remember the name of.
That being said, I'd probably buy it for a dollar, just to see if it's all that bad.
19:32
@AndyD273 did know that, but cannot buy it
@AndyD273 For me the taste wasn't bad, it was just so bland that I couldn't stand eating it for days, weeks, months at a time. In a survival situation, I probably could but....
19:49
I don't think it was supposed to be used that way though. I know some people did, just to see if they could, but I remember reading that the company didn't advise it.
I'm kinda thinking about trying to make the lembas bread from the WB question a few weeks back.
Something that can be a breakfast replacement when I'm trying to get to work and can't make a proper breakfast
@AndyD273 I remember differently. The CEO of Soylent bragged about living on it and nothing else for months at a time. Lots of people with gluten sensitivity said they would make it their exclusive food source (Not sure how that worked out for them.)
hmm, could be. It was a long while ago that I read it.
20:05
As far as I remember it was advertised as the food for those that don't care
Food for people who don't like food.
oh, you guys are talking about Soylent?
I've been meaning to re-check the price on that, I want to try using it for breakfasts
I liked the idea, essentially it's just a mashup of everything your body needs
the Nutrition Facts label is just 33% for everything, and 3 servings per container
might not taste good, but it's probably way healthier than what I normally eat
20:29
@DaaaahWhoosh do you have a belly?
Actually there's a good test for overweight... You're not overweight as long as you can see your privates without using a mirror
@dot_Sp0T That test is easier to pass for males than females.
@dot_Sp0T Alas, I can't see them currently... but that's mostly because of pants
