Morning @Nex

2:39 PM
@AndyD273 Good morning! How goes?

3:00 PM
@NexTerren Pretty good. I really need to force myself to start going to bed earlier though...

@AndyD273 I won't throw rocks in this glass house.

@NexTerren yeah

Also I had this awesome boss fight in my tabletop last game. Or it was supposed to be. It was a 2x boss, with a Solo (big boss) dragon that could resummon the Elite (sub-boss) enemy at full health on a 6 on a 1d6.

13 rounds. 13 chances to roll a 6. Not. A. Single. 6.

Darn RNG. Never seems to go your way when you really want it to

Ain't that the truth.

3:06 PM
And the thing is, why would the big boss not resummon the elite boss first chance it got? I'd take a hit or two if it meant I could call in backup over and over.

@NexTerren If it helps I had a session last night too...they snuck into an estate that belongs to this demon cultist noble...there were 10 guards in all but they rolled so well the guards we basically completely unaware...so they walked into the barracks/dorm where the guards were sitting unarmed/armored...
The cleric dropped a flame strike and the sorceress dropped a fireball. Everyone died...
Then the warlock cast cone of cold to put out the fire. They cast invisibility on themselves and walked out the front door through the crowd that had started gathering on the streets because of the fire and explosions...

If it was a Shadowrun game, I'd be proud of them as the GM. As is, that's hilarious. How many hours of content did they blow through with just some luck?

They got some secret documents, some warlock ritual texts, and then for basically no reason stole a nice rug, and quill and inkwell set, two casks of wine and several sides of smoked pork.
@NexTerren at least 2 hours given combat and the complications that would have come from drawing attention to the house.

@James I feel like at some point they were just gloating with that loot.

They were strait up bi-polar/multiple personality though. The plan was to go in all sneaky like and not leave a trace, so they went in flying invisibly and made it into the place like freaking super-ninjas...they hit the office found the documents. Then the dwarf decided he wanted the rug under the desk in the office.

3:12 PM
It's like in Doom (2016), the Summoner demon can summon in other demons. If I think one of those monsters is in the area it is target number one, because if you don't take it out in the first minute of the fight you'll be overrun by hoards of lesser demons. Having the resurrection of the elite depending on RNG is kinda silly, and probably should have been an automatic thing, so that the players would have to focus on the dragon and ignore the elite until after the dragon was dead.

So I made him roll a compound check with athletics and stealth and somehow he nailed it...
To be fair to the warlock who is the defacto rogue, I made up the super fancy inkwell/quill set in one of the very first sessions when they were level 1 or 2 as bait to make a bad choice and steal something, making their entry noticeable and he managed to restrain himself twice.
This was actually the third B&E on this house for the party.

@James So he pulled the rug out from under your whole plan?
2

badum-tsch
but yeah.
Even the dwarf and cleric were making their stealth checks.

Please tell me it was like that magic act where they pull the table cloth out from under the dishes without spilling anything, except it was out from under the entire desk

He lifted it up and set it back down...I think he rolled a 19 on his stealth...as a plate wearing dwarf fighter.
It was a stupid choice all things considered I fully expected that the guards were going to hear the thump.
But nooooo....

3:31 PM
@AndyD273 Yeah, fair. I probably should account for RNG next time. Hmm.
And that's great, James

@Hosch250 what's it do? (I'll have to look up my user id)

It tells you the average score of your answers by tag.
Like, in tag X, you average Y votes on an answer.

hmm. I thought I had my user ID, but no results found

You have to go to your site profile.
For example, you do quite well in alternate-history, with 14 votes per answer and 13 answers.
daily-life is your highest score, but you have only one answer, so it's not really statistically significant.

6:04 PM
@Hosch250 Interesting query.

6:18 PM
@Hosch250 I'm happy that my top 3 by answer count are reality check, science based, and magic.
Seems well rounded

7:02 PM
Reality Check, Society, Science Based @AndyD273 are mine
Course we should discount RC and SB...they are meta tags anyway.
Mine would be society, culture, magic based on answer count.

If we discount those two, then mine are magic, biology, society
