A: Sandbox for Proposed Questions

Incognito"How can i make power levels matter in a magic system that emphasizes control?" Magic works through transmutation circles infused with sigils that both manifest from a person's mind. The individual focuses their Anima, or life force, through these circles in order to create magical spells. These...

Q: How to make an answer using an existing work acceptable?

VLAZLet's say I saw a question about "I am interested in adding in my universe" and I recall "X" being used in some existing universe. I want to answer something along the lines of "In the Space Hike universe X was included in this and that way and it obeyed the following rules" or "In the Ruler of ...

If you go to Worldbuilding meta and search sandbox it should come up.
You might need to scroll down because some of the old sandboxes will come up as well.

Q: Sandbox for Proposed Questions

JBHThe Sandbox works best if you sort posts by "active" (click here to do so). Welcome to the Sandbox! This "Sandbox" is a place where Worldbuilding.SE users can get feedback on prospective questions they wish to post. This is useful, because new and experienced users can have trouble writing a ...

3:17 PM
@James And it looks like my D&D game is actually going to happen!

3:49 PM
@James What's going on?

4:04 PM
@NexTerren Nice, the setup we talked about a while back?
@Hosch250 Nothing, which is perfectly acceptable since I start vacation tomorrow.

4:16 PM
Oh, that's what I meant.
Have a fun time :)

@James If you mean the plot, sadly that Shadowrun game died.

4:36 PM
@NexTerren Ah. What's your plan? Or are you a player in this one?

@James DM. Story is long and involves a lot of "of days of old, now forgotten" bits that they get to rediscover. Going to run it semi-sandbox where not every fight is promised to be balanced for their level.

@NexTerren Always a fun way to go. My players have learned that the church (there's only one in my world) teaches a...doctored version of history/cosmology. There were/are more gods than just the one...they found some ancient texts, yadda yadda. But its considered super blasphemy so they have...surprisingly wisely not yet acted on that information.

4:53 PM
@James Huh, sounds interesting
One of the main villains (more a force of nature) in my campaign is... well when a human woman who's lost her love dies, she becomes a banshee, right?
Well this is a female archangel who lost her deity, and then died.
Trying to find an image I like for her. I had one years ago that I loved when I ran this campaign previously, but I lost it.

@NexTerren That is a pretty badass idea.

5:37 PM
@James Is that potentially why she lost her love?

5:57 PM
@James did you?

@dot_Sp0T He survived up to one hour ago.

@Hosch250 lovely
let's hope he doesn't make it

FWIW, I almost didn't survive about 2 hours ago.

Survived. And am leaving. :) Ill be on vacation for a few days so have fun. See you next week.

We interviewed a guy who was pretty good, and he has a scrum master certificate.
And some members of my company were kind of starting an anti-agile rant.
How they'd never seen agile work in the real world.

6:07 PM
@Hosch250 That happens at literally every place I have worked that was new to or just starting to transition to agile.

And I was about to pop up and say "I've never seen waterfall work in the real world. You guys were 3 years behind on your main project when I joined, and you'd be late on well over 50% of all the ones I've been on if I wasn't so fast at developing things."

The number of teams that tell me they are special and it won't work for them...is basically all of the teams I have worked with...
:eyeroll:
anyway. stop distracting me!

And then they were commenting on how behind the times he was, and I had a hard time not saying "you can say that after you pull your heads out of 2005".

I am leaving! Later all.

See ya!
And say hi to the pigeon for me.
(Kind of like seeing the elephant, but crazier.)

6:13 PM
@James See ya monday!
