I don't know quite how to phrase this, and there may be duplicates that address at least aspects of what I'm asking. So that's why I'm putting it in the Sandbox instead of actually Posting It As A Question.
The prompt for my question: I work in documenting how to use assistive technology (prim...
Oh good, didn't want to be bored at work for the next two days before I head out on vacation.
@dot_Sp0T So I think I am going to have my halfling druid come riding out on a treant tomorrow night. She will have the effects of the mounted combat feat...because why not.
From my perspective, it seemed like a contest to who could give away the most ridiculous amount of tax payer money, while NBC (and maybe the DNC?) did their best to show that they could top the amount of cheating they could pull off.
@NexTerren The Jedi definitely weren't perfect to be sure. Better than Palpatine, in that they valued life, but they also made silly mistakes for dumb reasons.
And Palp was the bad guy, through and through. Literally Lucas based him on Satan (or his idea of Satan) as he wanted an unredeemable evil to contrast with the redeemable Vader.
@James Just curious who you think did not deserve a smack? I only saw snippets of the first night, since it looked like they packed it with the weakest candidates, but it looked SUPER cringy.
@James I wonder if it ended up helping him that they muted his mic for most of the debate
@AndyD273 lol possible. But he seems pretty focused on message, not insults. He even tells twitter followers to be polite when engaging in discussions...
@AndyD273 What's her face...Williamson I think...is out of her mind. I was convinced she would start burning sage and handing out magic crystals before the end of the debate.
There is video where she has this spot on her chin that looks like a pimple that somehow didn't get covered up with the TV makeup, and from one frame to the next it just vanishes.
@James I'm not going to outright accuse NBC and the DNC of colluding to keep certain candidates that they don't approve of from getting a shot, because of course they've never done that before... But when a couple of the candidates who are outsiders get muted, but you can still hear them a little in other peoples mics, I'm going to say that it looks a little suspicious.
From an outsiders perspective, it looks like they've decided that you're going to vote for Kamala Harris. I just wonder if she'll promise to pay reparations to the descendants of the slaves her family owned.
@Hosch250 Of course not, and I'm pretty sure that there is no way that it is going to pass. They're just trying to push back on the blexit movement by saying they might look into giving away money.
@Hosch250 Sorta modeled on Brexit, basically a push to get black americans to take a good look at politics and the people who tell them that they can't get ahead without government assistance.
@Bellerophon Brexit is gaining a ton of momentum. The Brexit party went from birth to the largest political party in the UK in 3 months. Theresa May resigned because of her utter failure, and the person who will likely take her place actually has a backbone.
@AndyD273 I mean we're already past the first agreed upon deadline, past the second agreed upon deadline, and now the next deadline is in October which, given politics are what they are, that isn't that far away.
And I don't think they have real progress because everything put forward is voted down, but I don't think there's a majority outline for staying in the EU. They're puttering around in EU purgatory.
I'm no expert, but to me it seems like no matter your view (UK should stay in the EU or the UK should leave the EU) it's a mess.
And to clarify the first deadline was when the UK was supposed to have left, not when the agreement was to have been made.
*a majority outcry. Edit timed out just as I was trying to fix that.
@NexTerren Yeah. The source of the problem was that they put a remainer in charge of the exit, and the deals that she made were horrible. So she makes this horrible deal, brings it back, and the UK parliament is like "Are you insane??" So she goes back and does it again, same result. It gets close to the first deadline, and she pushes through a law saying that the UK can't leave without a deal, meaning that they are basically at the EUs mercy.
Basically the problem is Parliament is split massively between hardcore leavers and hardcore remainers with no one really willing to compromise and no majority for anything.Even worse is the conservatives are split on the same lines and the government doesn't have a majority in Parliament.
@NexTerren IIRC, the next PM will be selected in the next month or so, and October is the next deadline, so the hope among brexiters is that they'll be able to force a no deal at that time and finally be done with it. Though I could have some of that wrong.
Currently one of the candidates (Boris Johnson) said we would leave in October either with or without a deal. The other one (Jeremy Hunt) said we probably would.
@Feeds I'm not seeing the argument about why handing out floating point variables for coordinates is such a horrible thing, assuming it's a user located value on the computer system and not a real-life measured stored value.
Like maybe it'd be a smidge better to round that off based on some accuracy of the original maps and original measurements so people who didn't know what they were doing and how computers worked but did understand significant digits wouldn't be confused but...
@AndyD273 Is it because he only fights monsters when he is being paid so generally has time to prepare and so doesn't need silver most of the time and so their is no point risking it being damaged.
Maybe that's how it happened in the books. In the game so many freaken monsters. Ok, this creature is weak to steel, not silver. This one is not weak to either, but will be easy to kill if you put this potion on the silver sword
