Or maybe just be looking for it to exist, like looking for shapes in the clouds?
Oh my, do you see that cloud? That's totally racist. That's a racist cloud.
Sorry for the straw man argument :)

Racism is certainly a thing. And for many people it's a huge thing. Recognizing racism and accounting for it is better than not even paying attention. Calibration of that recognizer function varies wildly because of all the different paths people follow.
I don't even know how to calibrate my own racism/sexism/homophobia recognizer function.

Yes. OTOH, you have the SJWs, who according to some studies, have the same mentality as the nazis. "We're right, and the rest of you tow the line or we'll get rid of you."

Racism is a thing. Recognising racism and actual racism just don't always match up

@Hosch250 Yeah, and that's not okay either.

@Hosch250 That's more totalitarianism. Which is a big component of fascism. It's also a big component of a lot of ideas where you feel you have the right to dictate what others think or believe.
I'm anti-totalitarianism in all its forms.

Like round-earthers. They keep getting sucked up by the flat earth trolls/fools. If someone wants to be a flat earther, that's their problem--I'm not even going to try to debate them.
And if people really believe that, then I'm seriously worried about the future of this country.

Well, I believe the earth is round. I just don't care if some very tiny faction believes otherwise

Same here.
And even if I meet one of them, I'm not going to try to meat them over their belief.

@Hosch250 Flat earther, it's what's for dinner? Yeah, that seems like a really harsh stance.
Cannibalism, not even once.

I have to go a-parent-teacher-conferencing. But I love these discussions.

And I have to go get food... Another day, another dinner.

@AndyD273 You have been accepted into the Never-Cannibals Cabal. Welcome! May human meat never meet your lips.

@Green And may I never be put into a situation where it looks like a good idea. #RIPDonners.

@AndyD273 Tru dat!

Though, just in case, this might be useful:
Watching it did actually make me a bit uncomfortable, which is probably a good thing.

AaronWhile scrolling up/down a page, the background image no longer flows smoothly like it used to. At least, I thought it used to. @Green Let's put it another way. I'm writing a story about animals. Kind of a modern day Aesop kind of thing. Several kinds of ordinary animals: fox, dog, bull, sloth, cassowaries & cats. Now, fables are designed to teach moral lessons. (You know, the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese kind of thing.) And moral tales are designed to teach people these lessons. So how should I go about using these animals in my tales in a consistent manner?
Well, obviously, dogs are smart and loyal and obedient - - they’re obviously whites. Um, sloths are slow and lazy - - that’s a dead ringer for Latinos. Cassowaries are violently territorial - they sound a lot like Africans. Okay: foxes are red and clever and woodcrafty, that’s obviously Indians (and I don’t mean Gandhi). That leaves bulls & cats. Well, bulls are big and dumb but also violent - that’s blacks to a tee. And cats are inscrutable as hell, yep, that’s Asians for you!
I hope I make my point clear! Washing your hands of evil by making the comparison about named tribes that no longer exist (even though their descendants certainly do, and even though they themselves were human beings - every one of those groups loyal and dumb and clever and inscrutable and violent and compassionate by turns!) does not make the comparison any better.
