On a side note, with the Shadowfell, how can something be darkly lighted? Reminds me a bit of the dark light from the one Discworld book.

Hmm im not so sure about doing a homebrew race (as that's essentially what a shadar-kai would be) but i'm open to discussion

@NexTerren From what I can tell, it started as a homebrew, with them being a type of human, but then WotC decided to integrate it in officially as a subrace of elf. This apparently all happened in the last month.

So I'd pick "Elf" and then input this subrace?

In 4e their culture was pretty much built around the Raven Queen. Like certain people/countries on Earth with the assumption that you follow X or Y religion. I'm guessing it's the same sort of thing based on this?

@AndyD273 They bring out Unearthed Arcana to give players stuff to test and then they tweak it and release it in a new book. A few months ago roughly twenty subclasses from UA and other sources were incorporated into Xanathars Guide to Everything for example

@Aify She has death and winter in her portfolio - death, not the dead, which is why she hates on necros as far as I know

its not invincibility, just resistance

@Secespitus So semi-official, with the idea that it could change some down the road. The big question for me is (other than money) why push out a new edition that you then need to re-flesh out from scratch?

@AndyD273 Reflesh out from scratch? Not sure what you mean exactly, but the answer is probably only money. They basically destroyed everything from 4e and decided to go with 3.5 stuff, but more easy. And now they have to transport some of the old stuff that people want, but updated with the new mechanics and lore.

At least that's what I've heard. Never played 4e and only read some material for 3.5 and Pathfinder

@Secespitus That's pretty much what I mean by reflesh it out from scratch. Start it over, bring in all the old stuff a bit at a time.

Yes, you can have more than 1 goal/mission type thing, of course it'd have to be run through me though to make sure it fits in the campaign

Hey fellow builders -- I see that the community ads for the blog (here and here) aren't getting as much love as they might. Maybe that's because they're not high-DPI like the others. I have no objection whatsoever if anybody wants to make nicer blog ads. My skills are somewhat rudimentary.

Also, no I don't have higher-res art from the site banner; what you see in the one ad isn't shrunk down.
