@Samuel That's a good analogy. Personally I've been thinking we should rename Idea Generation to List Generation. In other words any question that could have more than one "best" answers is off topic as List Generation.
As we've said many times Idea Generation is the wrong name as all we do is generate ideas

Q: You are an advanced AI that controls a smart house. How do you kill your master?

MoritzLostDisclaimer: I have edited this question quite heavily to clear up the initial confusion about its scope and intent. Sometime in the near future, there have been some innovative inventions in the internet of things-department and now we have some pretty advanced smart houses. All those smart hous...

If people can have a look through the answers and flag/upvote/downvote as appropriate would be good :)

@Green Earliest I can give you is the 16th

Thats's fine. Just remind me please.

will do
@HDE226868 You okay taking the 18th?

@DaaaahWhoosh Sure.

great! now we've got six of these set up

For what it's worth, I feel like three of my top five would be closed (with one of the remaining two already closed).
But that's okay. Might as well get a discussion going.

4:24 PM
@HDE226868 I think it's good to get a wide variety of questions, even the ones that should be closed. Plus, maybe if all our top questions are bad, then that'll mean something.

@DaaaahWhoosh If that's the case, that will have interesting consequences. :P I suspect that may happen.

Can someone clarify why this question has four close votes? worldbuilding.stackexchange.com/questions/35002/…
It's the "avoid the heat death of the universe" question.
None of the question comments were helpful in describing why they thought it was opinion based.

@Green To me, I'd say it may have too many possible answers. A more on-topic question would be 'can you avoid the heat death?' because then people don't have to come up with possibly infinite scenarios for what should just be a yes or no question
that said, i did not vote to close, I think it can still be answered effectively as-is, though it is a border case (what isn't these days)

So it's a subtly unconstrained IG question :) ?

@Green I agree with what @DaaaahWhoosh said. The real answer is no (which at least two answers expressed), but people will answer in other ways. Those answers will be based on opinions.

5:14 PM
@DaaaahWhoosh I did see some good answers to the question.

@HDE226868 I think people are trying to apply a rather tighter "on topic" than is needed

Q: What should the requirements for tweetable questions be?

ArtOfCodeSo what seems like an age ago now, I asked if we should have a community-run Twitter account. It seemed like the response to that was generally positive. A few of us have taken on the project of developing a bot to run some aspects of that account. One thing it's planned to do is manage the twee...

Q: Unwilling to downvote

fi12I often find myself leaving a constructive comment on a bad answer with ways to make it suited for the topics of this site rather than downvoting it because that costs me rep. Therefore, I leave it to higher-rep users to downvote bad questions and answers. For example, take this question and read...
