@rumtscho Thanks for the detailed comments on the answer on my question, I felt like the answer is probably "right" per se but I 100% would like to see a more detailed one...
really hoping Billy posts an answer based on that scientific American article, it seems much more accurate
@Joe The answer might well be right in the sense that yeast really comes from the grain. I honestly don't know.
I guess that the reason why I'm riding on it so much is that I have seen the different opinions being posted in different places, stated with equal conviction and certainty, and I admit that being served false information pushes my buttons.
I hope FuzzyChef doesn't take it badly. I didn't even downvote the answer itself, just wrote the comment.

@rumtscho totally understand, and agree - I always prefer to see well-sourced answers when possible.
@Joe They are generally good, yes. I think I might have some internal grading system of where I want to see sources I haven't thought so much about.
If I see information that I count as self-evident, like "it is easier to spread warm butter than cold butter" then I don't care to see the source for that.
On the other end, there is information I tend to discount anyway. "Olive oil is healthier than avocado oil!" Whenever I see this written somewhere on the Internet, I don't care if the author has found a study somewhere that supports (or looks like it might support) the conclusion. It is a quasi-religious statement for me, and not something provable.
And then there is the information which I would like to believe, and get angry if it turns out that I was misled. Especially if there is a controversy about the topic, but nobody even acknowledges it, but simply makes an assertion and moves on, as if it were a truth so obvious it doesn't need discussion.
