The room's not normally packed with throngs of chatting users, but 8 days with no activity is a bit low even for this room.

Oh, hadn't realized you were soloing. I mean yeah, you're the one I usually notice doing such things, but I can be oblivious sometimes so I figured it was me.

There's not much about Writers that you need to know in terms of modding; I try to let the community close bad questions where possible.

@NeilFein yeah, same with me on Mi Yodeya. The community should at least initiate if not act entirely, unless it's dire. I don't think I've seen "dire" here on Writers.

There was a time that mods had to close a lot of questions, but we've edged away from that a lot, fortunately.

@NeilFein early in a beta there aren't enough people with privs, but we're past that now.

I've been here since the private beta, but only a mod for the last several months, I think.

I assume there'll be an announcement on Meta at some point. Did Aarthi say when all this would be taking effect? (I pinged her in TL about it.)

@NeilFein I haven't gotten email from Aarthi since I accepted last night; I assume I'm in the queue with a thousand other things (such is the life of a community manager). We didn't talk about when, but I assume as soon as she can process it. I also assume an announcement would come only after that.
