@Catofdoom2 There are lots of places you can get ROMs, but unless you're going to run it in an emulator or have a device that lets you run ROMs, you won't have much luck.

If you haven't updated the firmware in a while, you'll likely be able to jailbreak it.

Then you can run emulators on it much more easily.

Yes, but an emulator needs a ROM (a copy of the game itself), and there are legal and illegal ways to get the ROM.

But most people just pirate the ROM. I can't recommend that since it's technically illegal, but it's what everyone does.

But the emulator itself is always legal.

FWIW I play old Pokemon games on an emulator myself.

Uh, probably not. Most old games don't have online servers running anymore. There are a lot of homebrew servers set up though, which you can use to play with other homebrew users.

Are you talking about an early Nintendo DS Pokemon game? IIRC they're the first to have online support.

There have got to be cheaper options. For that, you wouldn't need an emulator because the 3DS supports NDS games natively. But you'd have to download the ROM, which is technically illegal. Not that I haven't done that myself a thousand times, of course.

I like gen 3 the most.

Gen 1 is also quite fun but it's a lot more... unpolished.

I think you have to save it manually.

There's probably an option at the top? First save in-game, then use the option at the top.

It'll probably give you a save file to download or something.
