In the end, every variation of the game of life can be done the same way. The only things that really differ are the definition of neighbour and the rules for the state change.
The first try was nearly correct. However, you forgot to consider the neighbours around the 3x3 grid. After 1 cycle, you should consider a 5x5 grid for each z.
Well, either way I still have a couple of episodes scheduled so I don't need to record anything new at the moment
@Vogel612 I just noticed where the currently public youtube videos are at, there I definitely don't have enough to automate circuits because of the missing moondrop
but over the next few episodes, you'll see that I will get a lot closer to that
