Monking

1 hour later…
1:31 PM
..is Monking an actual Chinese god/legend or is it just a reference to this strange convetion in some chatrooms to grossly misspell morning?

1:46 PM
Yes to both
"Monking" in the chatroom is what prompted me to spell card('MONKING') instead of card('MONKEY KING')
Kind of a wink to Code Review chat
lmao

2:15 PM
@juux everything allright?

Hey everyone!

Hey @Marc-Andre!

2:34 PM
Everyone is busy !

3:04 PM
Yeah apparently

3:28 PM
Working from home today because I was supposed to get internet installed, but evidently AT&T screwed up the scheduling.

So you're at work now ?

I'm at home but logged in to work
(using my cell as Wi-Fi hot spot)

Wow and you're able to work wow.

TBH it is pretty slow right now
But, yeah; I usually get a lot of work done when at home due to fewer distractions

3:46 PM
hey
It's always fun trying to write an application without having a clue of what it is actually really supposed to do

4:09 PM
Um, sounds like you need to do some white boarding lol

Problem is that we didn't really know what we're working with
So there's an Arduino and a camera
Now I figured out as much that I should send commands via a serial connection to the Arduino for the time being, later move on to WiFi
And appereantly the camera exposes a RTP MJPEG stream for the camera feed
Oh and the little thing also has its own OpenWRT router
And my laptop is really dead slow for whatever reason :|
Was nearly impossible to code on it

4:45 PM
Why backup your #VBA code when you can have it under #git #SourceControl? http://stackoverflow.com/a/32744572/1188513

@StackExchange a lot of these seem to lack a punch line.. i guess they are not supposed to be funny all the time?

@bazola I never understood most of them

They are not always funny

@bazola CommitStrip - Blog relating the daily life of web agencies developers
Not funny commit strip
The life of a web developpers is not always funny :P

6:21 PM
just recently tried out a game called Super Time Force. its pretty awesome once you get the hang of it

7:08 PM
Man, RoboRosewater is great. We should totally use the abilities Tromple, Fuseback and Mointainspalk in Cardshifter.

7:25 PM
@Lokkij Aaah, that's the neural network for MTG :D

Yep! Daily generated card in your twitter feed. :D

Have you seen the original topic?
There's lots of awesomeness also in there
Also, I ran the neural network on hearthstone a while ago... Honestly not sure if you were around back then
I would so love to see a real match with generated cards involving the "name a card" technique

Rename ServerErrorMessage to ErrorMessage

Used for all types of errors.
Switch to ErrorMessage where appropriate

Errors should not be signaled in a range of different ways. See #379.
Remove status from WelcomeMessage

As it's only sent when a login is successful, a status code is not
meaningful. It's always 200 because clients expect it to be (as of now).
See #379.

7:43 PM
I finally got around to some cardshifter code! Feels good.
3

Nice nice!

[Cardshifter/Cardshifter] build for commit 5053161f on error-msg: The Travis CI build could not complete due to an error
BUILD FAILURE!

@Lokkij That twitter feed is still awesome :D
@Duga @jacwah Someone was there to ruin your party...

Hmm build is timing out

7:48 PM
U wat
Wat did I just read
WAT

That makes no sense at all

I was reading it being all serious and everything trying to understand the effect
But my brain timed out

Trying to understand that is more of a category error lol.

> Today, I was writing a long comment on a new user's post that came around in the First Posts queue. As I was writing, I noticed that my page kept on refreshing as I was writing, and I would have to start my comment all over again. After a while, I caught on and figured that it was the user script that was refreshing this page.

It would be nice if the user script did not do this.

Well hey there @SirPython

7:54 PM
Hey @Phrancis.

[Cardshifter/Cardshifter] build for commit 5053161f on error-msg: The Travis CI build could not complete due to an error
BUILD FAILURE!

That's great

In the same context...

> Which UserScript are you using @SirPython ?
> @malachi26 The ReviewQueueNotification.js
> That is not a user script that I have developed, I am blaming @malachi26.

I believe the `*` at the end of `/ @match *://*.stackexchange.com/review*` should be removed.
> @SirPython you should get the most updated version of ReviewQueueNotification from my Repo --> github.com/malachi26/ReviewQueueNotifier
> @Zomis do you want me to delete my version from this folder?
> Or you can make another pull request with an updated version. If you want your script to be a part of this repo, that's OK by me. (as long as it doesn't contain any "donate here" stuff)
> there is quite a bit different. There is more than one file now in my Repo. only a mention of donation in the ReadMe file, which I wouldn't include in the pull request any way.
> OK, then maybe removing the file from this repo is the best thing to do. @SirPython I recommend you fork @malachi26's repo instead.

8:23 PM
YEAHHHHH INTERNET FINALLY
7.62mbps downstream, 1.45 upstream, not bad

Delete ReviewQueueNotification.js

Removed Malachi's script, see https://github.com/malachi26/ReviewQueueNotifier instead for this

@SirPython please fork Malachi's repo instead.

Okay, it's forking.

@Phrancis Nice for internet, not so nice for the speeds

:cardshifter-core:test (Thread[Task worker Thread 14,5,main]) completed. Took 1 mins 32.234 secs.
No output has been received in the last 10 minutes, this potentially indicates a stalled build or something wrong with the build itself.
The build has been terminated
@jacwah ^^ that's not good...
some test seem to get stuck for some reason

8:31 PM
Fix WelcomeMessage status property

Field required by Jackson.

@SimonForsberg Yup, I think I tracked it down, let's see

that certainly sounds like it could be it

I don't know why the test is not simply failing though

@skiwi Well, not paying that much for it either
$35

[Cardshifter/Cardshifter] build for commit f022c123 on error-msg: The Travis CI build passed

8:35 PM
@Duga There's what I like to see!

Wow the new iPad Pro is gorgeous (and huge)

@Phrancis I guess that's just America being America
For €50 including TV and telephone we get 120/12 here
Only hitting about 60/12 lately though :|

In practice it's never the advertised speed.

@skiwi that'd get 100/100 here. (Sweden is ccccheap when it comes to bandwidth)

@SimonForsberg Fiber?

8:47 PM
that too

@Lokkij With Ziggo here that used to be the case... But since the merged with UPC (LibertyGlobal) it instantly got worse

I've always had about half the advertised speed with Ziggo.

I keep forgetting you're from same country :D @Lokkij, are you studying or working already?

I started a study in Artifical Intelligence this year. Great fun. :D

I'm getting jealous ^^

8:49 PM
At which school?

All the way over there :D
I'm studying in Eindhoven on university

I've lived here for my whole life. :P
And the RUG is on of the few unis that teaches AI.

An AI study sounds very cool
But as it is not a technology university, how technical/math-related is it?
I've thought about starting a Master next year in AI on Utrecht University, but seems more like I'll go for Game and Media Technology

It is! I'm a little scared by the 50% failure rate for the first year, but luckily most people fail on programming (in which I have a significant advantage).

8:53 PM
Sounds cool

@skiwi I'm not really sure yet, but we get two or three programming courses, two maths courses, and a bunch of other courses like general linguistics, logic and cognitive psychology.
In the first year

So I'm guessing it is like all the hardcore AI with additional psychology :D
Is that a Bachelor program?

Yep!
The full curriculum is here.

Wow okay, that's sounds pretty hard then
I find it hard to see that people would start with an AI study on Bachelor level directly after graduating high school
AI seems like such an advanced concept
You're gonna love Neural Networks AI :)

Well they start with the basics. But yeah, it's a difficult study for people who aren't mathy. :P

8:56 PM
Lol, you have ethics and law too :P Seems like every study has it

Haha yeah looking forward to the more specialised courses.
And statistics, of course. sigh

I like that the Artificial Intelligence programme has an Artificial Intelligence subject
Tell me about statistics... Had it too

Wait, ethics and law? I didn't know that. :P

You mean sadistics right?

Hahaha

8:58 PM
@Lokkij Well, there's "Informaticarecht voor niet-juristen"

Or do you mean the electives in the third year?
Yeah I'm probably not going to pick those.

Oh wow, it's an elective, you're lucky :D
I can't even show a curriculum if I wanted lol, mu study is so messed up at this point

:D

Right now I'm having a cool course though where we need to develop a remotely operating vehicle (small) from scratch
All we got is some materials, a budget and an Arduino + USB camera with Gimbal controls, motor shield and WiFi router

Huh, sounds pretty cool.

9:01 PM
TTGTB though

Good night!

9:13 PM
Later
Just about time TTQW

9:25 PM
changed how setMessageListener works

Before, when using setMessageListener, all the controllers would look about the same in that area: they would have a commandMap for all the types of messages they were looking for, or, they would just accept a single type of message. Then, inside the listener function body that was passed to setMessageListener, it would call the correct function in the commandMap and then use $scope.$apply to apply it.

Now, the setMessageListener method will accept the co
[Cardshifter/HTML-Client] SirPython pushed commit 2a4086a6 to errors: all the controllers now use CardshifterServerAPI.setMessageListener correctly
Added system for displaying errors to the user via a modal.

Changed the way `Cardshifter.setMessageListener` works.

^^ There is one more thing I'd like to add.

9:42 PM
LMAO
@Lokkij that article on randomness in MtG that you shared is eye-opening
